During the coverage, I think it was the playxplay guy (CRS, Kutcher) said something about missing
Beal and how that's 30 ppg not available. Simplistic view. How efficiently relative to the rest
of the team, or the team when he's not in the game, score? It's possible that the team would
score less when he plays. More shots for guys who shoot at a higher %age.
Simple-minded indeed. No you said simplistic which sounds better.

The Wizards only scored 98 against Toronto with Bradley Beal.

That announcer sounds to me like he thinks like our past coach Scotty Brooks. Volume of shots by One Shot Jacker (and I'm not really calling Beal a shot Jacker) does not indicate how much a team should score

All of a sudden we have a lead point guard who can hunt his own shot in Spencer Dinwiddie. We also have a legit 6ft 9in Wing player in Kyle kuzma who can pretty much score off the bounce or in a catch-and-shoot. Add to that we've got a beast score inside at Montrezl Harrell that we did not have before

A not so bright announcer might not have noticed that the Wizards do not have to rely on Bradley Beal like they once did or like the previous coach insisted that they do

This guy might be a better point guard than either of the previous two

Here comes OT.

Kuz was wide freaking open on that play

He may have had "hero ball" in his mind. On the other hand, if he had made the shot, we would be, in our euphoria, saying GOAT.

Yeah should of passed it to Kuz, it was set perfectly, they came at Dinwittie hard cause he just made that previous shot, left Kuz wide open top of the key and Kuzma was hot, that was the play to make instead of shooting it contested. Never would of went to OT.

Rewatching the Bertans 3 and seeing everyone celebrate with him was awesome. Shows you that this team is connected. I also used to make threads about how unless it's the playoffs, we have the worst crowd in the NBA. No one cheers and they look at you crazy if you get excited but for game 1,at least the bottom level seemed full and everyone was going crazy like it was the postseason. Definitely seemed different and you can tell that the new guys were soaking it all in. The best thing is that Brad hasn't even really found his rhythm yet. When he does, we will go to another level

Yes, the crowd was electric last night. Made it extra fun that we won a close, exciting game.

Bottom level was mostly full, the upper level was about half full. Reported attendance was a little over 15,000.

I’m sensing that many fans have a good feeling about this new crew of Zards players…just like some of us here.
