You must be a Democrat with gaslighting skills like that homie.

I do not know how much clearer I could possibly be.

NO. There are not a lot of posters on this forum who think Rick Carlisle should have gone. It's the exact OPPOSITE. There are a lot of posters on this forum who think Rick Carlisle should still be the Mavs coach. Most of them think Donnie Nelson should still be the GM. And instead they point the finger at Mark Cuban and Haralobos Voulgaris.

I'm saying that if you think Carlisle makes the right decisions i.e. Carlisle knows best, and you also think Kidd is a bad coach, then you should consider the possibility that if Carlisle had stepped into the Mavs Front Office, the way Brad Stevens did in Boston, he very well may have hired Jason Kidd as his replacement.

What in the world is hard to follow there? I don't understand how you couldn't understand that.

There's a 2nd game???

I thought the season ended with the loss to ATL.

Is Kidd still the coach?

All jokes aside, 1st game was as brutal as it gets. Turning the page and praying for something that actually resembles a real game.

It was bad, can’t deny that. They have a lot of work to do but there’s a long way to go. I refuse to believe that a team with Luka will suck.

Can't emphasize enough it's game 1.

The Raptors looked pretty brutal against the Wiz. If Siakim was playing it might be different.

Siakim is the guy the Mavs should be targeting in a trade.

None of those posters will remember Carlisle's only interview after leaving Dallas where he raved about Jason Kidd and basically lobbied for Kidd to be the Mavs new head coach, weeks before it happened.

So riddle me this, If Kidd sucks so bad, and Carlisle has the biggest basketball brain on the planet, then why did Carlisle stump for Kidd to be his replacement? As a practical joke on the Mavs???

Trolling Cuban for sure. :)

But yeah, he knows Kidd personally, he can't throw him under the bus.

Are your arguing that Kidd is a great coach? I'm interested to hear the argument. If not, I'm not sure what you are trying to say.

It's actually not that complicated to get a better than average offense from the Mavs. All you have to do is not get in the way. Anything under 48 wins will probably be considered like below average coaching from me.

I agree, offensively Kidd has an easy job. Let Luka do his thing with this group. Cant be worse than what they were trying to do vs Hawks.

His job should be coaching up the defense. The problem with that is KP. He seems lost on offense and when he doesnt get it going, he stops playing on defense. And Kidd talking about posting him up more is so ridiculous I thought he was kidding at first but apparently he actually meant it haha. Luckily the Mavs have Luka who will just stop passing KP the ball in the post if at some point. He knows more about offense than most coaches in the league anyway.

Kokoskov is really the one putting this offense together. He’s trying to install a motion offense.

Nothing wrong with motion offense, Kokoskov has won gold with Slovenia with it, if you have right players for it. But Slovenia had then Dragic in his prime, Luka, Randolph like perfect big in that system and Prepelic as deadly shooter. Mavs have Luka and Brunson, who were capable to play it.

And if Kokoskov really is putting offense together, why Powell is playing and KP not being 5? Why DFS, who's one of the most limited Mavs players, is starting?

I believe it's about compromise, how you make KP happy. KP where would you like to play? 4. Ok, we will make some motion offense to help you getting more balls.

That's not true. At least doesn't even look like his offensive scheme. It was just Brunson and Burke try to dribble the ball for few seconds and then give it up to Luka, who was visibly forced to overpass all the time. They had no rythmn at all.

Hopefully it's better tonight.

The team will keep sucking as long as they keep experimenting with this new system. That is all. We will see tonight if they keep this up or go back to Carlisle offense or some variation of it. Thats when this team is at its best. If they try to play like they did against ATL, they will lose the game.

You also have to remember that this is the 1st year of installing this offense. They don’t have all the right players yet. They do still need another guy to fill that Dragic role (it might actually be Dragic too). Ideally I’d like to see them pull off a trade to get both Dragic and Siakim.

This team is not a finished product.

With Cleveland beating Atlanta right now, we can't even think that the Hawks have reached a new tier and are a great team.

I hope they show up tonight.

KP posting up... a nightmare that will keep happening for how long? It's mind boggling.

I have never seen worse Mavs or any kind of team that Luka played in.

Kp goes out and they start to play more normal. Maybe staying in the corner is his position after all.
