I know we lost and everything. I didn't get a chance to watch the game....but Jesus, Tyler is absolutely balling. He might turn into our biggest offensive threat.

Minor notes: Max Strus seems to be holding up. Should get as many of the Morris minutes as the opposing teams rotation allows.

Defense kept them in the game. They had no business staying in it with Bam and Jimmys offense contributions to be honest. Boy did they stink it up.

Yurt is waiting for a chance. Hope he's ready when it comes. A stretch big with size should be perfect for that second unit. Could make Gabes and Morris shortcomings less visible.

Wow Herro had the worst +/-

the stats told a completely different story from what I was watching. Madness.

Robinson actually had respectable numbers. Butlers FG% is all time trash. :nonono:

Thats the reason i dont care about stats, nothing better than the human eye to know the true impact of a player in a game.

To play this bad against the Pacers front line gives me little hope things will be different against the Bucks full front line this season.

Gotta trade Duncan for a pf. Tucker playing 36 minutes tonight is crazy. I don't have any expectations on Dipo but even like, 17 minutes is enough with Lowry healthy. 48 minutes of Tucker and Morris is not doable against big teams.

Sure, but who? There is no one out there. Morris needs more minutes at this point.

Jahlil Okafor is 25 & available not sure if he helps tho.

The problem appears that again Spo has Herro running point again way too much. Running an offense is not Herro strength. Herro just needs to focus as a scorer. Pacers made a run at the end of the first because Strus made three defensive errors by playing off of Lamb that led to three 3s and Spo had Herro running the offense which led to two turnovers. Gabe needs to learn how to run point. He is running away from the ball. Herro need to be primerily running off screens and occasionally run a pick n roll. Herro took 28 fga, WAY too much, that is because he is bringing the ball up way too much.

In general Heat run terrible offense. First ten mins was good offense which was primary run plays for Bam

You can see the big difference between Butler and Vincent combo vs Butler and Nunn. When Butler runs the Point Nunn was an excellent off the ball cutter that would make you pay for cheating off of him to defend Butler or Bam. Vincent just stands in the corner and slides left and right rarely making defenders pay for not defending him or when the defense make an error.

I am going to give Vincent ten games to figure it out. He either needs to learn how to run point or learn how to play like Nunn on offense.

I wondered why Strus didn't get more time(now and last year) since he seems to be the better defender of the 3pt shooters on Miami's roster.

Just looking at each player's impact last night with ORTG - DRTG.

Player ORTG-DRTG (actual ORTG - DRTG)
Butler -10 (83 - 93)
Bam -2 (85 - 87)
Robinson +17 (114 - 97)
Tucker -72 (25 -97)
Vincent -38 (64 - 102)
Herro -3 (93 - 96)
Morris -43 (61 - 104)
Strus +33 (130 - 97)
Dedmon -75 (21 -96)

PF is the long term problem but Miami knew what they were getting in PJ Tucker, he's not the issue, the issue is the backup, the backup can't be bad at offense and defense and that's what Morris is and there isn't a PF prospect on the roster behind Morris.

Backup PG isn't a long term issue, Oladipo should be back at sometime but it's going to be bad on the nights Lowry misses until then.

Strus got smoked by Lamb for 4 straight threes. That is probably why. He was making the same mental error vs Lamb over and over.

Many players last night would have looked bad had open shots went down. Lamb hitting 3 in a row was an anomaly, other then that he looked better then most out there, he seemed to have some energy at least.

Very bad turnovers. Besides the first ten mins the Heat didn't run any offense. They just ran down court and try to force quick shots. There was no reason for the Heat to play in a rush or panic like they did. Their defense was playing well.
