The main thing to focus on to when thinking of Wiseman is that we don't need him to be a star. Let go of the big expectations, what can be for us is still something potentially really awesome. I've been watching the Warriors for a long time, something we've always coveted is a 7 footer with a natural shooting touch which Wiseman clearly has. How many young 7 footers have a jumper that looks that smooth?

While Wiseman was not good last year when he played his offensive impact was much, much more negative than his defense. Since he has offensive skills I think it's just a matter of learning & practice. I don't think he'll ever be a high IQ guy but if he can learn to be a center who can stretch the floor he'll still be great for our team. A guy like Wiseman has never learned to be a complimentary player before, this is new territory for him.

stretching the floor is nice but we have Bjelica for that, we need him more than anything to 1) hound the boards and 2) bang screens/picks and roll and 3) defend...that's his path for minutes on this team.

And just out of curiosity (and a weird obsession with fairness that I'm stuck with) what would you guys have said Jordan Poole's role on the team should be when he was starting his second season? Just bring the ball up in garbage time, make easy passes, and not take shots, perhaps?

Wish this scrub was ANYTHING like Mobley.

That’s for those of you who say “BiG MeN TAKe LonGER To DEVolPe”

No, only idiots with no basketball IQ take longer to develop, AKA Wiseman. I firmly believe unless you r complete incompetent on the defensive end, you should at least be able to rotate over and defend the paint. But nope, not out big man

Why couldn’t we just get the number 2 pick in this draft. Then again, last draft had Melo and they still screwed it up

So basically none of what he is good at. Great. I’ll wait for him to prove me wrong but I feel like I’ll be waiting my whole life

The wiseman pick is the biggest elephant in the room whether the management or fans want to admit it.

Potential to single handidly ruin Stephs subsequent years

Too early to say.

Hopefully all the impatient criticism will motivate him.

What can be done about it now though? LaMelo already won Rookie of the Year and looks destined to be a multi-year All Star. We just have to hope that in four or five years, Wiseman develops into a somewhat functional player. He has no trade value right now. So, even that isn't an option. We're stuck with him.

I don't disagree, I was speaking more about his full potential. Rebounding & D is first.

Worse than a dog on a bone, I'd say.

At least the dog drops the bone every once in a while.

Would love to trade Wiseman for Miles Bridges.
