Plumlee and a small something for him?
It didn't really occur to me until I saw someone mention it today, but you may want to prepare for more overreactions after they face OKCs bigs.

What picks go where?
This assumes Ujiri decides to retool/rebuild without Siakam.
Buddy Hield to Orlando
Gary Harris and Marvin Bagley III to Toronto
Pascal Siakam to Sacramento

Definitely something from SAC to TOR. Expirings alone are nowhere near enough for Siakim

Hield + Bagley is decidedly negative. Not albatross negative, but you're not getting anything nice out of that duo unless a 1st is being packaged.
Cov + Nurk are both expiring but should be able to bring back a very good player, possibly an all-star if a 1st or two is going with them, especially if they are extension eligible.

Hield and Bagley for Love and Sexton in a bigger Simmons multi-team deal?
Covington and Nurkic could probably get you into Siakam territory if you could match salary.

i have a hard time believing Cleveland would just use Sexton to dump Love, and still have to take back negative salary in Hield... also where does Bagley even make sense for them? They're already so jammed up in the frontcourt, they're starting Allen, Mobley, and Lauri together

The plumlee for Charlotte is just a lazy guess. I think Washington is the rotation player most likely to be traded

I have two teams (Bucks and Nets) and potentially a third (Warriors depending on what Klay looks like though even Draymond is close) with three players on their team better than Simmons. Am I missing anyone?
I think I'd rather have a "worse" player on paper who can score and doesn't disappear in the playoffs (and isn't getting paid like a #1 to pass up wide-open dunks and have 1-point games).
It's probably fair to say that there are more than 30 guys who will produce more expected wins that Simmons over the next few seasons. But if you're looking to win a championship, unless you're already the clear favourite, ceiling is waaay more important than reliability. A rock-solid 3rd option guy looks tempting when you've got Simmons disappearing in the playoffs, but that guy+Embiid and Harris probably doesn't get you a championship. Simmons has the upside to do that on an otherwise non-contending core, IMO, even though he's a huge gamble.

Re: Thoughts in General, Rumors, etc 4.0
Since its not the time of year for the crow thread just gonna put this here. Thinking back 2 1/2 years ago to the KP trade my thoughts were man Dallas paid a ton(most thought the opposite in real-time) but totally worth it to take the chance on KP because the theory of KP just seemed ideal for Luka with a rim protector who could space the floor and also run PNR with him. I viewed THJ as a big negative-- a lot of money for a selfish player just looking to jack up inefficient shots. I thought Lee was a negative but a guy who could come in and play a solid vet role and I thought of Burke as simply a salary/roster balancing guy.
Fast forward and KP has been a major disappointment. THJ has shown to be the opposite of a selfish shot-jacker, but turned into a great team guy, who has been a consistent secondary offensive guy with solid efficiency and does whatever the team asks. Lee never found a role, And Burke is somehow still on the roster.
So one trade, Chuck managed to get it wrong with every single piece Dallas got. And with THJ being such a solid contributor the price they paid wasn't nearly as heavy as I thought. So I was wrong in the end on value too.

Not the first time that happened to Dallas in a trade. The Caron/Haywood for Howard/Gooden/etc trade, Tough Juice and Haywood were the main gets, but it cna easily be argued Stevenson ended by being the most important contributor via his role in the title team, and he was like THJ, a guy we had to take to get the deal done. Even the Juwan trade to Denver, Raef was the guy Dal really wanted I believe, but NVE was their best get.

More ranting and whining from Gambling Bob, but if this is true, then Nelson should have been fire don the spot on draft day 2020. It was a dreadful day for the Mavs regardless, Josh Green has been nothing short of suck so far, and Terry isnt even on the team anymore. Meanwhile guys like Bey and Bane are doing quite well

You are correct. Only players with more than one season remaining under contract are ineligible to extend during the season.

I'm still hoping Dorian and Jalen extend with Dallas. They are both capped on what they can get, but its hard for me to see either getting more money next year in free agency though I guess it only takes one team to see Brunson as a starter a la Detroit and Jackson, or more recently Washington and Dinwiddie. And Jalen may prefer opportunity over anything else. He knows he'll never be the starting PG in Dallas.
But for DFS 4/$55M is his max and he's not getting that next summer so I sure want to see a deal get done.

Yeah. I see Jalen not extending simply for situation and chance, much like Jerami Grant left Denver for a better “chance” in Detroit. I don’t think this one comes down to money.
DFS is different. I agree that the 20% of league average would be more money than he’ll get on the market. Here’s essentially no cap space, and the MLE would be less than that elsewhere. But that leads me to believe that Dallas likely isn’t offering that, if they’re offering extensions at all, to him or others.

not quite as bad as CLE, for who they've listed Cedi Osman - who is likely available, but here's the reason given..."Osman is the prime candidate to be dangled in trade talks since Cleveland has a logjam at his position". a "logjam" at the SF position. in CLE? must have missed all the big wings they've got laying around, lol.
