 Man people like clowning on the Clippers but their owner is rich as hell and they’re going to have a nice new arena. The Lakers just have the tradition and they’ve been living off it for a awhile. I never liked LeBron going to the Lakers, honestly. Didn’t like it in 2018 and still don’t now.

Same, although not for basketball reasons. He had a extremely, extremely unique career path / storyline. By going to the Lakers he became just like every other great who did the same thing. Shaq, Wilt, Kareem, Dwight, Nash, Malone, Grant, Payton, etc. Removes some of what made his career kinda special imo.

can't in good conscience blame the GM without pinning some of this on the stars. If they simply added some combination of Nunn or Monk to last year's team they'd have been better off but Lebron and AD showed why you don't listen to players in teambuilding. They are a slow halfcourt team, favour postups, favour defense, favour Rondo and favour their double big system, there were like 5 overlapping reasons why it was never an ideal destination for Westbrook. Players know talent but don't have a clue how to put together a functional team. I guess you're right to say the GM also screwed up not applying initiative and taking their input.

I thought the Deandre Jordan signing was pure negligence though. Nets were the biggest story in the Nba last year, how did a front office guy not tune in to one game to see how bad he was? He can't even jump anymore. Do you realise how bad one needs to be to be a negative defender in a lineup that contains Kyrie and Harden. The other issue was not addressing their wing depth. One injury to a 36 yr old roleplayer was all it took to destroy the rotational wing balance? Was so confused by that, so did the title plan include Melo guarding Giannis or KD in the finals? Because if one also watched the EC playoffs you saw Giannis absolutely abuse Ariza physically.

Thank you to the Lakers for Caruso.

He's been great as the guy from the bench.

The Lakers should have kept him.

In a perfect world, I would have preferred Lebron join the Knicks. Obviously, that wouldn't have been feasible with Dolan but resurrecting the Knicks would have been a nice notch under his belt. I was also never much of a fan of him joining the Lakers for the reasons you mentioned.

AD refusing to start at the 5 continues to limit the ceiling of this team, and more importantly continues lowering their floor.

Damn, AD at the five and Lakers tighten up on both ends and there's so much more space on offense. What a shock

I'm actually laughing at how different the Lakers look with AD at the 5 vs with DJ on the floor

I didn’t like them using a roster spot on a rookie but this Reaves kid can play.

This team looks good with Ad at the 5. Not sure how many minutes Dwight or Deandre should good. Could cost them wins.

Monk is a nice piece. He has his flaws, but he's good.
