Final thought:

I know Rose is carrying this team coming off the bench, and that the "It doesn't matter who starts, but who finishes" platitude is more popular than ever, but I wonder if this team shouldn't rip the band-aid, start Rose (its best player), and then have a more realistic approach to finding a proper back-up PG.

The organization seems paralyzed when it comes to acquiring an actual starting PG - maybe because the price is supposedly "so" high (it's high for a reason). But Rose is playing like one. So why not start Rose, and get a competent two-way back-up PG via trade.

There's a reason why Boston and OKC felt they were better off without Kemba Walker. He sucks.

What is Rose's net rating?

Highest on the team at +27.4

He was #1 last year as well at +10.6

Yet Thibs took him out after the 15-0 run because of what? Thibs has a deeper team and still have no feel for rotation. Rose on fire we kept going to Randle. IQ, Burks, and RJ didn’t have it and Grimes couldn’t even see a minute when we needed an actual shooter and defender.

Hottest of hot takes:

I'd put RJ into a trade for a star in split second.

Why not Kemba in that role right now?

Did Randle blame himself post game yet? He always does this after going back to his old self.

I hate to tell you this but rose isn't an actual starting pg either, I know he's been really good for us but he's a backup, and I'm sure there were reasons that plenty of teams have felt they were better off without him as well, including the cavs, pistons, timberwolves, and knicks in 2017

I don't really see the benefit of that. Either way, the minute distribution is the same.

I also don't think a competent two-way PG is easy to get, backup or otherwise.

Kemba is just here to soak up non-Rose mins

Well, we could always package Obi with him.

Somebody in the game thread said RJ just need an opportunity as if he’s James Harden on OKC.

Both Tom and Thibs blaming this on effort. That’s horse chit, can’t believe we were feeling ourself and couldn’t punch back.

Breaking: Spike Lee gave Cole Anthony moms the court side seats, thanks Spike… thanks to you 29 16 and 8. Spike stay costing us.

Preach!

It's a shame regarding Kemba but he cannot be trusted. And it ain't just his defense. As much difficulty he has moving his feet on defense, he is atrocious at moving his feet to get shots for anyone (including himself) on the the floor. He is literally a statue shooter. It's a bad look for such a previously dynamic player. makes you appreciate Rose all the more.

god shammgod wrote:this was a bad loss but i want to see us against the better teams. last year's knicks could rely on defense to stay in most games. now we're more dependent on offense and that goes cold like it did tonight. we're not the same defensive team. too many bad individual defenders.

You didn't think last year's team was going anywhere anyway, so why do you care?

It's just a different team now.
