This season is about player development and hopefully figuring out who some of our core pieces will be. While Suggs' shooting has been dreadful, he is doing other parts of the game well and he's not going to keep shooting this poorly. Franz has been better than most of us probably thought and Bamba is starting to look like the player we hoped he could be. I'm disappointed by the margin of loss but it's only two games. We knew we would be a bottom five team. Getting JI back will probably make the biggest difference. We're probably not winning 30 games this season, but we're also not going to lose 70. Win 25-30, get a top pick and hopefully we get the last big piece we need to maybe build a contender.
And hopefully that last piece isn't a big man

Problem is.. unless a darkhorse candidate makes "that" jump, the top-pick we will be getting in the next draft is gonna be a PF/C.

Bamba/WCJ
Isaac/Okeke/WCJ
Fran/Okeke
Hardy/RJ/Cole
Suggs/Fultz

Hardy looks like a bucket getter, but unless we go small with him at the 3 Suggs will be our lead point guard. Though our bigs (Mo, WCJ, Fran and Okeke) all seem pretty good at passing from the high post, which should allow us to get the ball back to Suggs in good scoring positions.

Well... Hardy does have the reputation as a guy that can score. Will he prove that in college? Remains to be seen. A lot of reputable high schoolers that are 3pt shooters or instant bucket didn't actually justify the hype. Also, we gotta be sure about his height. It's anywhere from 6'3 to 6'5. Is that with shoes on? Or will he shrink like Cade from 6'8 to 6'6 coming into the league?

A lot of questions and we got a whole season to watch lol

This team needs to lose as much as it can, culture etc isn't reliant on wins, just progression, I hope every game we lose is by less than 5, with some wins sprinkled in, but we need a 'star'. Everything else for the future I'd set, just that 1 player and some good vets and we'll be in a great player

Right now, I'm all aboard the Chet train. If his versatility is legit, I wouldn't worry about fit. At worst, if we resign Bamba because he had a good enough year and draft Chet, we have some really valuable trade chips to fill in the other needs we think we have. We have potential core players at every possible position. We don't have a traditional two-guard, but that is becoming less of a need in today's NBA. I'm not saying every player we have is going to be a star, but that we have some potential at each spot and I don't think we need to worry about fit. Get the right core in place and let Mosley or whoever is the coach figure it out.

We will see how it shapes out. Right now based on "leaked" or "hyped" video of scrimmages Im leaning towards more on Paolo. However, as past drafts has shown us, there are those players that were really hyped in high school but couldn't bring it int college. There are also those lowly-regarded or ranked players wh suddenly became a top-5 candidate after a solid year.

As I said, right now Im more on Paolo but who knows, PBJ, someone who I think is in the archetype of MPJ/KD could shoot up and be atop-3 candidate.

I think we can lock this chat. Let’s try having a little faith in our team next time.

We'll probably demolish the Pistons.

This is why we are all on the RealGM boards and not on the Orlando Magic's payroll boys and girls <3

Great job antijinxing the team, OP.

With the stacked NBA schedule which lead to lots of coasting and "scheduled losses" due to a fatigue, not to mention all the tanking, a team got to be really bad or intentionally blatantly tanking to lose 20 in a row. We are bad, but not that bad. We have a core of solid defenders and some players who can got really hot on a given night and carry the offense so we have a shot against most teams, especially when they are tired or underestimate us.
