Jalen Green put up a bunch of threes today. Had a cool dunk.

Another unimpressive game by Suggs. 11/3/1 on 3/9 shooting.

He was awesome today. Still a pylon on defence though.

Yeah, I’m just not that high on him anymore because I can sorta see his limitations already even if he becomes a perennial Allstar or something. He really needs a team around him with high IQ and solid defense to have any chance at actually winning and influencing the game in a positive manner, to hide his flaws. He would be good next to Scottie and OG for example.

Another thing to note with Greens performance is that it’s clearly an unsustainable type of performance (8-10 from 3).
Barnes on the other hand has been getting his buckets through a variety of ways that are far more sustainable such as hustle plays, putbacks, drives, coast to coasts, and the occasional jumpshot

Agreed. What we're seeing from Barnes is a sustainable type of success. Not a streaky type like shooting the lights out.
And i think Barnes playmaking becomes even better with siakam on the floor. I feel pretty certain about Barnes being a contributor to winning basketball. We have a solid core 4 right now.

Agreed. Can't wait to see how the team looks with Pascal and Yuta.

Alot of times a premium player like pascal returning results in other guys number's going down. I don't think thats the case here. Their games don't interfere with each other.
Also...ppl have been correct in pointing out how bad we've been finishing in transition. Alot of that has been Precious. I'm not knocking dude. He has a little potential....but he's also been our rawest starter. Those 3 on 1s will be smoother when pascal is back.

He's been the worse of the top 6, and Franz Wager even looks better which is surprising af.

It's only surprising if you bought into the ESPN hype. He's playing against bigger and stronger guys who are more athletic. This isn't college.

Okay? Everyone bought into the hype for the most part. He was pretty good in college although on a stacked team. Zero chance you predicted he would play this rough to start his career. Get off your high horse.

I've gone back to that Gilbert video about Suggs and he seems to have hit it on the nail. Suggs has never been a one on one scorer. Being led by a pass or getting a steal and taking it to the basket is his way of scoring. That's not going to work at this level and it barely worked in College. If he was on a stacked team like in College he would look better but he's on one of the worst rosters in the league.God Squad wrote:maternal85 wrote:God Squad wrote:He's been the worse of the top 6, and Franz Wager even looks better which is surprising af.

I feel like Magic was never going to be a good fit since its such a guard heavy team. Also I feel like Suggs nba development/acclimation timeline will be on a longer arc than other lottery picks, he might show up closer to the mid or end of the season, mwybe even next season.
Originally I thought Barnes was going to have this type of development arc, where he'd have a quiet first year and we'd see him show out in years 2 or 3. Obviously, he destroyed all my expectations.

I tried to make the same argument in this thread, citing Suggs struggles against Baylor, a team full of NBA level athletes:
viewtopic.php?f=32&t=2105414&start=120
And they tried to take my HEAD for it.
But the evidence of what Suggs would struggle with was always there.
not strong, only aggresive cuz the power ain't directed/ that's why, we are subjected to the will of the oppressive

I can go back. I posted the Gilbert video where he said Suggs isn't special. I agreed with him and was bashed. I can go back and find the thread later on. It was actually common sense. If you're not an elite athlete in college, you'll be an average athlete in the NBA at best. With limited athleticism and skills, he's nothing special in the NBA.
People shouldn't always listen to these internet "scouts" and "experts". They're nothing but fans with no inside knowledge. Literally.
