His own sister is already starting the process.

Also people were getting impatient with masai thinking he was playing negotiation games. Now we know the real reason for the long wait

I bet Ed was planning to bring back BC after he gets rid of Masai.

Feschuk on TSN1050 this morning was suggesting that Masai would have a problem with Ed's politics. And maybe vice versa. If Ed is conservative, he probably didn't like the way Masai brushed off Doug Ford at the parade.

It was really unfortunate that basketball guy George Cope retired from Bell recently. He would have been an important ally who could have helped put a stop to this nonsense. No wonder Masai was insecure. His position was 100% dependent on the 75-year-old Larry Tanenbaum. Fortunately as governor, Larry had sole authority under the NBA consistitution to bring back Masai, regardless of Bell or Rogers.

Also from the article (according to Feschuk), the deal is for 15 mill/yr, plus a share in any increase in value of MLSE. An opposing franchise (we can only assume the Wizards) offered a 3% stake.

I doubt Rogers cares about Dougie; he would probably be more uncomfortable with Masai's connection with Trudeau and Obama, not to mention Masai's focus on social justice. If this is true, I am surprised Masai is even here putting up with this BS; he could have gone somewhere else and be rid of this disrespect.

It was co-sourced. I think it's pretty obvious that a story like that has to be leaked to a major newspaper. Michael Grange would end up looking for work if he had to post that.

https://www.thestar.com/business/2021/10/23/martha-rogers-on-twitter-tirade-against-brother-edward-amid-bitter-boardroom-brawl-at-rogers.html

Rogers Communications Inc. director Martha Rogers has publicly called for Edward Rogers to resign as chair of the family trust in a series of tweets targeting her brother.

The siblings are locked in an extraordinary battle in which Martha has aligned with her mother, Loretta Rogers, and sister Melinda Rogers-Hixon, while Edward attempts to remake the company’s board of directors and regain his influence after being fired as chair this week.

As of Friday night, it was unclear who exactly is on the board of directors at Rogers, one of Canada’s biggest communications and media firms.

“Unlike Ed I have no lawyers, PR spin firms, staff or media training,” she said in a tweet on Saturday afternoon. “Don’t need it. I’m no one special, just a fairly ordinary woman put in extraordinary circumstances. Ted put me on the board as a check and balance to ensure nothing this insane occurs. This is for you Dad.”

Folks, it might be time to get the ol plane and banner out of storage.

Come to think of it, I remember Ed Rogers trying to snake Alex Anthopolous and Paul Beeston behind their backs, and while under contract too.....

I'm pretty sure all these guys are loathe to support progressive agendas if it costs them money. He wanted Bobby Webster to get promoted, because that's the cheaper option.

From the article it sounds like they caved on 11 of Ed's 12 conditions, and the hold up was that play with the Jays. This all seems like just one giant rich a-hole flexing his leverage, which is what Bell and Rogers routinely do with our gov't.

I’ll never understand how some very rich people are so bad at choosing a plastic surgeon when they can afford the best. The wife looks like cat lady.

Anyways pretty clear that this Rogers wouldn’t be onside with Masai’s vision of the Raptors as an organization advocating for equality. Seems like a shut up and dribble or stick to sports type.

His sister's twitter feed needs more views. Hilarious stuff.

Ujiri’s relationship with key MLSE board members, notably Tanenbaum, Dale Lastman and Bell CEO Mirko Bibic, in the end made him really feel comfy sufficient to return to the Raptors because the staff’s vice-chairman and president, the NBA supply stated.

I've cancelled everything Rogers over the last 3 years, Internet, Cable and Cellphone. My costs are 1/3 of what they were before, with better service and more respect from the companies I'm giving money to. Rogers are bloodsuckers.
Everybody is losing their freaking minds. Nutbars and wingnuts have infested this forum. We've become a public lavatory without cleaning staff.
