Georges Niang thread

Post#1 » by blargh » Tue Oct 19, 2021 1:57 pm

Is it just me, or do we not have a Niang thread?

I gotta say, this guy gets it:

”I think I have a pretty good idea,” Niang joked at practice on Monday. “Make sure my guy doesn’t get in Joel’s way so Joel can go score, yeah, space the floor.”

“I am here and I have been told a long time ago I stay in my lane because when you start getting out of your lane, that’s when you get hit by a Mac truck,” Niang joked. “I stay in my lane. I show up to work every day and do what I need to do to help the team win.”

One dimensional backup who's an unathletic undersized defensive liability

I'd like to see Niang try to become prime Ryan Anderson.

Who will still be a big upgrade from Mike Scott.

Role player who knows his role, a useful piece, nothing special, but fits around Joel/Drummond. Not sure he has a role in the playoffs unless we add more D around him.

Definitely a upgrade from Mike. Definitely a tweener as well.

I think we need another Big 3&D wing

Solid add

9.3ppg
50FG%
53.8% on 3s
Mobile on defense that he’s not a liability

They call him the Minivan, I call him the Dad Bod God, lol.

Great pickup with a much expanded game he didn't get to show in Utah, plays the right way, skilled and enthusiasm without being a clown like D Howard often was on the verge of last year. I love this guy and Drummond as off season pickups, er, minivans.

Another great move by Morey signing Niang.

I love his passion for the game. Perfect match for Philly.

Knowing how good he is. Is he a $20M per year guy? This guy is going to get overpaid next season huh?

Right now I want Drummond to stay here for more then 1 year and Niang to stay for more then 2 years.

They are so perfect for their roles off the bench.

Prime Ryan Anderson was like Redick or Korver--he would drill 30 footers off curl screens and one-legged fadeaways (and back when teams took like half as many 3s as they do now).

I'd be ecstatic if he can be a kind of PF version of Curry, mostly just takes pretty open shots that other people create, but makes you pay if he can get them off.
