I really like Giannis new shooting form and FT routine, lets see how this goes.

Good opening win.

Shot looks better, man’s on a mission. Between Giannis and Durant as the best player in the NBA currently IMO.

A 40-pointer with three triples and 7-9 from the free throw line, along with good defense and rebounding.

If he keeps this up, i'd be very surprised if he doesn't get the MVP.

Was a shame the Pistons couldn't keep the game competitive even with the Bucks missing 4 starters. He played a bit more than half a game, could have been a monster one.

Something that I’ve noticed (and a quick glance at his shooting splits confirms) is that he has been far more experimental in his offensive attack early this season, he is trying to expand the repertoire and will likely tinker as the season advances. Just looking at the numbers makes this clear. Only 35% of his shot attempts are coming in the restricted area, his career average entering the season was 50%. His average shot distance of 11.7 feet is also his career longest. He is also shooting a career high clip in three point attempts.

giannis is not making much noise in the regular season but is still fantastic, totally destroyed the lakers tonight

if he uses the regular season to keep trying out new thinghs the bucks could be even better this year in the postseason (their same great defense should be there for the most part but hopefully without the inconsistent/mediocre postseason offense)

nwora and grayson allen should help a fair bit with the spacing, and connaughton seems to have made a nice little leap too

I feel like this guy is underrated right now with discussions mostly revolve around Steph, KD and heck even Lebron (wtf?). Steph, Jokic and Giannis should be leading the pack in MVP discussions.

According to your logic, Tim Duncan doesn't deserve any respect.

FTs? IDK he started out pretty hot but then had a rough stretch along with small sample sizes. Take out the 5/12 game and he is at his career average.

As for Jules response - I think this is key to his TS% being way down. There are 3 possibilities
1. He is experimenting. He is just broadening his game now to confuse the D/give him back up options but will attack in when it matters. All but 3 of his 50 points in game 6 either came in the paint or at the line https://www.statmuse.com/nba/ask/giannis-shot-chart-game-6-2021-finals.
2. He is getting lazy. It takes a lot of work to attack or post up. He can still do it but doesn't want the wear/tear
3. The absence of BroLo is really hurting him. BroLo is a perimeter big but since he since has post up moves you cant put a wing on him. Right now Giannis is getting the attention of the big man so when he attacks or post up, he doesn't have a big man like Lopez to dump off to to keep the opposing team honest.

I'm hoping it is #1

He's creating a lot more of his own offense so far this year, in large part because Jrue and Middleton have both missed extended time. That combined with him pacing himself and experimenting like you said with points 1 and 2.

Only 30.6% of his 2P FGs have been assisted so far this year (44.7% 2019-2021 under Bud). His proportion of FGA at the rim has declined.

Think both of those will move closer to his previous numbers as the season progresses, and his efficiency will rise.
