There's a clear top 9?... I'm not very good at these lists yet...

I typically open an excel sheet and either make columns for positions or tiers. Then I open up Basketball Reference All-NBA teams and go through all the years and write down names. Then I do the same with All-defensive teams. It takes maybe 10-15 minutes.

In the past Basketball-reference.com had a search function for free [now behind paywall] where you could search by any criteria. This allowed you to search for FGA/G which made competing benches easily.

Yeah! I remembered it being easier to search specific things before. That kind of threw me off when I started again lol

Well, so much for things going by the book. :D
Iversons an interesting one in this with the normal elite scorers off the board still surprising to see him this early though.

 My top two choices were Pippen and Barkley who went literally right before me so this was a panic pick. This is my first time doing one of these T&T games too so my team probably won't be great until I feel out how these drafts go lol.

I recommend going through past drafts to get an idea of how guys are typically valued in these.

Eh. I want to see an Iverson team in this. Probably should have waited a round or 2 to grab him, but I’m glad he’s in this.

We should probably give Heatlyfe time if he doesn't pick.

Chris Paul has to captain the all Dr P team.
Comments to rationalize bad contracts -
1) It's less than the MLE
2) He can be traded later
3) It's only __% of the cap
4) The cap is going up
5) It's only __ years
6) He's a good mentor/locker room guy

People might eyebrow-raise that pick, but I really like Manu.

And I feel like he gives you a lot of the playoff-chops that's missing from a pool without the MVP/Finals MVP guys.

Probably won't go well. But we'll see. I'm (IMO) in a tough draft spot so I had to try something different.

Yeah I was surprised but then I thought he might go on the loop picks so if you want him grabbing him at the end of the 1st makes sense. Prolly would've gone more elite scorer myself but you're right you've got a tough spot so mixing it up makes sense.

The star impact at 10.5 FGA per game is uniquely valuable- gives me the opportunity to (hopefully) build a different type of team here.

I guess in terms of overall value I felt there was a top 7, and if none of them dropped I was going to do something different.

Is the bottom that tough? Your 2nd pick is going to be a superstar talent and then your 3rd pick will be as good as mine and Dame's second pick.

If Dame and I are getting picks at the end of the 3rd/early 4th that are high end starters then I agree with you.

I like Manu in this pool a lot, nice pick. It's a deep pool without a ton of top end talent. Getting a Weak MVP for 10.5 FGA is great.

I still see like five or six guys on the board that I would have happily taken in the first round. I'm expecting a lot of evenly matched teams.

I changed it to AM but not sure if it's fair to hold Heat4lyf to it

I was told as a kid that am = "at morning" and pm = "past morning" so I'd remember.
