Damn I didn't realize Duarte was this old compared to his peers.
He's already 24.

Also didn't know he was Canadian.

Looking forward to Duarte vs. Barnes tonight.

You seen him guard on the perimeter? He’s going to to be able to guard anyone not strong enough to overpower him. Too damn long, elite shot blocker already, and way too positionally aware.

Flip side imagine if Allen/Mobley had an elite backcourt? Easy playoff team in the East.

Nope, if anything he’s better than his raw stats suggests. Once he gets to his prime he’ll be an elite as heck two way player. Just way too smart at what he does and doesn’t stray away from his limitations he’s such a special talent all across the board.

Like in College he was guarding everybody and got exploited due to strength difference not skill. 15+ pounds completely changes the story.

Heavy usage guards/wings are what I consider to have inflated stats.

Say Mobley has a highly effective game with 18/10 ,7/10 from the field with 4 assists, 4 blocks and 2 steals.

Say some All Star guard puts up a 30/5/5 game on okay splits with high turnovers for a non elite playmaker and not having a defensive bone in his body.

Casuals would pick the guard as the better player. Me? Not so much.

Later down the track people will criticize his shot, his scoring tendencies yadadada. Pre draft I thought he was the best player and nothings changed on that. My guess he’ll be a top 10-15 impact player in about 3 years or less. That’s my minimum.

Highest praise I give him he has the potential to be the Garnett to the Celtics, Duncan to the Spurs or Davis 2020 to Lebron, or worst case a taller Adebayo.

Anyone arguing the impact of 90’s bigs or classical defensive first bigs or ATG bigs playing the league today can just look in the Mobley direction. He’s as fundamental as they come. The modernized stuff except for his passing ability (already high lvl for his age) is the work in progress not the other way around.

God help the league if Hakeem, Shaq, DROB and Ewing were playing right now for different teams. F that lol.

Can't wait for Cade and Kuminga, should make the weekly top 5 be super competitive. Currently, I don't see anyone challenging this group to get in.

He's born in the Dominican Republic, but raised in Canada. He's both Dominican and Canadian.

i really don't think Kuminga is going to play much. Warriors are trying to win, they barely play Moody too.

Quick google search seems to show the opposite: born in Canada but family moved quickly and he grew up in the DR, then moved from there to NY for last two years of high school. You could technically call him 'Canadian' but ties to Canada seem pretty thin.

I have a feeling they are going to trade them for a star at the deadline if the Warriors are close to the top.

Why did you change the original post from saying system to squad? Obviously your SYSTEM is better, even though the squad isn't quite there...your just being bias to try to make a point.

Even as someone who got pretty high on Barnes after watching summer league and preseason, I'm super super surprised at how much he's been scoring. It's just 5 games, but he's been in double digits every game. He averaged 10.3 points per game in college and he's scored more than that in all five games so far.
