BTW back to JI and the NBA...

Is that accurate? I saw a post where JI plays only 45% of games if he is unvax?

Hypothetical and best-case scenario : JI is fully healthy without any injuries this season . Meaning he plays all 82 games ( minus what he missed so far ). How many games is he NOT ALLOWED to play? I would have thought less than 20%

I saw a post here that says JI can probably play only 45% of the games if he is un-vaxxed?

That's why I asked, hypothetically if JI is injury-free, how many games can he play in this 82 game season we have?

The only post I see with 45% is saying he's played in 45% of available games since he's been in the NBA. AFAIK, he can play in all the games if he's healthy and unvaxxed.

Exactly

So I missed a point that doesn't exist? You're going to have to produce something that backs up that claim.

Even if it were true (good chance it isn't), JI has self-disclosed publicly at work that he isn't vaccinated.

Edit: looks like you joined this forum a couple days after JI announced he was unvaccinated. Just an observation.

I have been on this site for well over a decade.

I quit a couple of years ago as buddy ball was just too infuriating and was leading to a lower life span.

I came back a month or so ago because the team is now much more interesting.

I see you joined right after ISIL started their offensive through northern Iraq. (just an observation)

That was me... JI has played in 136 games out of a possible 330 in his career. He's got a 41% game playing percentage! If only his 3pt% were that high...

Agree that the team is much more interesting now.
I'm still waiting on a source from you on that Florida vaccine law taking precedence over NBA protocols. I'm guessing it doesn't exist which is why you ignored the request.

LOL. In 2017 who would've guessed that quiet JI would be our most controversial and self-promoting player on the roster in 2021!?

He's got a book coming out too.

Which is great and all, but does it mean maybe he's preparing for his post NBA career already?

Honestly Im actually ok with it. Being that young and already spreading your portfolio on other legit business venture ( not saying it will succeed or crash or anything ) I mean I much prefer "our" star doing this than reading about our "star" in controversy about being arrested, getting buns in the ovens of different women, releasing a rap album that just sucks, getting screwed over by insta-thots, etc etc ..

Doing all those doesn't really mean a post-NBA career cuz a lot of players are doing it in their primes.

He might as well, because it's rapidly approaching.

The NBA player's union voted not to mandate vaccinations. Silver said he wished they would've voted to mandate vaccinations.

It has nothing to do with Florida. I believe courts have already Florida that they can't dictate how businesses operate.

I don't care what he thinks (or doesn't) about Vaccines any more than I care that TRoss thinks 9/11 never happened, etc etc.

People (these days) will listen to athletes about things they may know NOTHING about (or may know everything about) more than they will listen to an expert in the field...sad but true. People yelling "shut up and dribble" are probably just on the other side of said athlete's position...Why is Scott Baio more of an authority than Lebron James (for example)? I don't blame these guys for using their platform to promote a cause, I just wish more Americans weren't dumb enough to give their opinion any weight (without considering their expertise first).

I care that the biggest knock is that he's never on the court -this isn't helping. Kyrie is absolutely f**king his teammates (who aren't getting any younger-from 1-10 on that roster). Wiggins' strong religious beliefs make me laugh...they dried up quick when he wasn't going to get paid.

the experts in the medical field arent in unison when it comes to this topic. thats how science generally is but the loudest voices tend to have sponsors.

anyways when is isaac returning?

As long as Florida passes some law allowing people to be able to sue their employers if they get disabled aka blood clots etc for being forced to vax, I am aok with forced vaccinations.

Florida isn't dictating anyone to do anything. That's the point. They're trying to allow businesses and people to make their own choices. The Government is trying to dictate/force businesses/people to do what they want.

I guess I shouldn't be surprised to see the points being made here and how contemptuous the conversation is getting. I just dislike how this vaccine thing is pitting people against one another. Even organizations against individuals and people are sometimes losing jobs over this.

When you start creating such divisiveness in a society and taking away peoples' abilities to make a living, it's concerning. I guess I just wish people had choice without being vilified. But, we have a mass of the population that treats the vaccine like it's a god of some kind. It's not to be questioned, that's blasphemous. It's bizarre.

As for Isaac, I applaud him for standing for what he believes in - even if it could lead to negative consequences. I feel like he'll be back somewhere in December or January because the organization seems to be playing it safe. Considering how the Magic have done thus far, no reason for him to rush back because this team isn't really competing for much.

Not surprising that people have strong feelings in the middle of a once in a century global pandemic, when there is a lifesaving vaccine available that a certain group isn't willing to take mostly because of political reasons, despite the mass of avoidable deaths every day. Who should we blame for politicising a global health crisis? Perhaps go take a look at r/HermanCainAward.

You do have a choice. Nobody has been forced to take the vaccine. The issue is the entitled notion that there should be no consequences for actions or decisions. A nurse isn’t entitled to put their coworkers or patients at risk because of their personal beliefs.

With respect to NBA players, they are entertainers. Entertainers make money because they attract eyeballs. Scrutiny is part and parcel of that. Without the eyeballs, there is no money.

I didn't know that Reddit existed. It's bizarre to see people celebrate deaths of unvaccinated people. But hey, you do you.

If you're talking about Isaac, I think he realizes there are consequences for his decision. In interviews, Twitter, etc. he seems very aware that his choice is an unpopular one and that he'll face criticism. Which is why I said in my post that "I applaud him for standing for what he believes in - even if it could lead to negative consequences." I don't see any entitlement in anything he's said or done regarding vaccination status.
