these two are going to be a dynamic duo on both ends of the floor. Can't wait to see them in two years

Plus Siakam is coming back in a few weeks.

Raps front court is actually shaping up
to be extremely long, athletic, talented and dynamic. Young too. Defensively they can switch on anything.

Barnes(20) / Siakam(27) / OG(24) / Achiuwa(22) / Banton (21) / Boucher (28)

Barnes in particular has been unbelievable, our best player so far this season. He is booming with potential and he’s the best prospect we’ve had in franchise history.

Going to be a force in a couple years.
Go Raps!!

isnt this a problem though? og siakam and barnes.... none of them are really doing that well at the 5 save for some niche circumstances where its good.

In a couple of years, Barnes will likely top out near 6’10 & a strong 250 lbs. Thats not just small ball Center. That’s a legit Center against 25+ teams.

i dont think he has the accrued knowledge to play that position. center in the nba is pretty nuanced on both ends compared to the others, but i do think thats an interesting point...

Nothing here, move along, …. We’re just a boring team north of the border…. 8-)

Seriously, I love watching the emergence of the raps youth and style of play, but we’re through game five and there’s a new Scotty Barnes or raptors thread every day. I know we’re excited but let’s take it back to the raptors forum. Let’s enjoy this new season and what it brings without seeking the general board’s approval on the state of the raptors.

Perhaps there should be a thread about positionless basketball - pertinent for all teams.

I believe most Scottie fans would rather see him being developed as a starting PG. He’s emulated his game after Magic Johnson and it shows.

Raptors will be very good with: Barnes/FVV/OG/Siakam/Achiuwa

I've seen fans being overly optimistic on their prospects, but this is a whole new level. Not only is he going to learn to play at center to fill the need, but he will also grow (vertically) into it?

I get that everyone is excited about their new toy, but lets remember Michael Carter Williams Rookie season and his first 5 games 20ppg 7.6ast 5reb 3stl. Not saying SB will be MCW, but relax until we are at least half way through the season.
