Terrible look to question a coach who knows more about the game than Bol ever will. I’d sit him 2 more years and then sign him to a minimum deal and bench him even more.

The 7’3 and athletic part kind of gets exaggerated. His feet especially on defense do not move well. In high school and his short stint in college, him defensively in space was very very hard to watch. So the combination of slower plodding feet and horrible defensive awareness is pretty much as bad of a combination as you can ask for from a big.
Coming into the draft there were 2 huge red flags with Bol. His defensive potential seemed very limited (because of the reasons I stated above) and big time personality red flags. Was never the most popular guy on any of his teams (to put it nicely) and motor/work ethic red flags.
There is a reason a guy his size who can shoot like he can fell as far down the draft as he did. It’s not like Malone doesn’t have a track record or playing low drafted players. Morris, Barton, PJ, Jokic are all 2nd round picks or undrafted and Malone has no issue playing them. So I think all signs point to Bol Bol’s lack of work ethic and most likely still isn’t playable because of how bad his defense is.
then why arent they waiving him? something doesnt add up. its more of coach being personal towards a 7foot unicorn who can shoot.
reminds me of lauri situation where the bulls knew he was valuable so they held him hostage for months exploiting his rfa status. all the haters like to exaggerate their weakness they are borderline unplayable when their system sucks.
Doncic will be goat. Lauri will be his sidekick.

Nah
It wasn't a serious trade suggestion, but in terms of just basketball, Kyrie is easily better than Murray.

In isolation perhaps, but if Murray comes back properly healed, he's going to be far more valuable to the Nuggets, younger + his synergy with Jokic

I think he deserves to play but will never get the burn behind Jokic. Despite the shooting you would never want Jokic and Bol Bol on the court together for a multitude of reasons. Denver should trade him now and get value for him.
The Nuggets are playing Jamychael and Jeff Green as backup 5's. If Bol can't work his way into the rotation with those two ahead of him, the problem is Bol. Not that they suck, but they're not really ideal backup centers.

Ya this is the thing to me. It would be one thing if Plumlee was still there. Smart veteran big as the backup for Jokic. If that was the case then I can see the argument that the Nuggets should trade him because he won’t ever get the chance because of the logjam at the 5.
But that’s not the case. There was no legit backup big on the roster last year. They had to go get McGee late in the season just to add some depth. This year it’s basically a 35 year old Jeff Green playing backup 5.
I’m sure Malone would love it if he had a capable scoring big that can come in off the bench when Jokic sits. When looking at NBA rosters you can make the argument that Denver is one of the teams that could use the idea of Bol Bol the most.
if you are 7'3 athletic, can shoot, and cant crack a rotation, thats either something personal that malone has against him, which is entirely possible, or the guy just hasnt worked hard enough.
I have a really hard time imagining Mike Malone not playing Bol over a personal matter. Malone cares about his players and is a great developmental coach. I'm sure he'd love to see Bol get good enough to earn minutes.

Bol Bol has no one to blame but himself. He was drafted into an ideal scenario for a project like himself. No pressure at all and a great chance to earn minutes as Jokic’s backup since Denver hasn’t had a good backup for him since Plumlee left.
I’ll trust the coach that sees him everyday and even though he needs good minutes at the backup 5 spot, he still chooses other players.
sure, trust the fraudulent coach that limited Jerami Grant and MPJ and has consistently gotten outoached in the playoffs. Makes sense. lol what has Malone done to earn anyone's trust?
You really have no idea what you're talking about when it comes to Malone. Stick to the Eastern conference.
