Wonderful win. KAT is remarkably efficient and volume doesn't change that. I hope, as the season progresses, that we find ways to make sure he's taking the most good shots. I'm fine with the guards making something happen after a possession breaks down and the clock's just about up, but our dude scored 25 on 13 shots. His TS is in outer orbit this year. If we can make him a credible, every game 30 point threat, ANT, Russell and Beasley whenever he comes on line are going to eat more efficiently.

Really happy with the first 4 games, but this isn't the offense's finished version by any stretch. The pieces are in place. Our short bench is playoff caliber with a deadline trade or two. Once we get this KAT on high volume consistently... If that can happen and the team stays healthy, we'll be thinking about home court in the 1st round, not "Can we make the playoffs".

I like where your head is at. Now allow me to throw some cold water on it .

1. They were missing 2 starters in Holiday and Lopez.

2. We gave an insane amount of open 3s to them, a good number of which were from the corner (high percentage most of the time.) The only reason we were able to get away with our poor 3 point shooting is they were matching us shot for shot in misses.

3. We thought the same thing about the Houston win and then had some ugly basketball the next 2 games.

4. We haven’t played a healthy playoff team yet and we won’t for a little while.

5. Early on every team is a mess including us. We won’t know until week 4 or 5 where we truly stand.

All of that said, it was a great win, and I especially like that we won wire to wire in their building (something that has never happened in that arena.)

Ant had a mixed game but really let down at the end. Two big missed layups and a missed free throw that could have cost us huge. My father pointed out he is only a second year player, and he is right, but that was really bad timing to melt down.

Umm didn't he have the game-clinching bucket blowing by a very good defender in Middleton? Hardly a meltdown or letdown.

It's about a mentality. It's about going into each game with the right mindset. That's what last night showed and that's why it could be season-changing. It has nothing to do with the players on the other team.

It's about a mentality. It's about going into each game with the right mindset. That's what last night showed and that's why it could be season-changing. It has nothing to do with the players on the other team.

I think you’re both right. My concern was that the Wolves team might have started to phone it in after losing to the Pelicans. After the schedule came out, many people talked about the Wolves starting 3-0, particularly since Zion was out. The Pelicans are the level of team we need to beat to finally reach the playoffs, or at least the play in game. The team was playing at home, and I’m sure many players expected a win. The game exposed our same old problems - lack of size, Towns temper, problems in the clutch.

No matter who the Bucks started, I expected to see our same old problems. We start off okay, then the other team makes a run, and we don’t respond, and stay 10-15 points behind the rest of the game, and it leads to a four or five game losing streak. Finch’s Wolves surprised me, coming out with so much passion in a road game they weren’t expected to win. Ant may be the closer we have never had. Next game, we may come out with enthusiasm again - I don’t know if we would have, if we were on a two game losing streak.

I don’t know how good we will be, but I want to see us at least come out swinging. Tonight the Wolves brought a mentality I didn’t expect, and I hope this is a sign of things to come.

It's awesome that we were able get this win. We gave away one that we shouldn't, but then we made up for it by getting one we weren't supposed to. It's what we need to do if we're going to make the playoffs.
As far as being a playoff team, I'll believe it when I see it. That's not a criticism related to this specific team, that's just the nature of being the fan of team that's made the playoffs once in 16 seasons. I'll decide if something is a season changing win in hindsight, after we've locked down a playoff spot.

1 for 3 in the final 2 minutes and missed a very important free throw. That said, he did hit 2 finishing free throws in the foul game.
