Yeah the officials are doing a great job with this and the players are starting to adapt. Now they need to do something with the **** take foul bull.

IMO you should be able to slow down in front of a defender and it should be a non-call, not an offensive foul.

Houston is going to end up with some great picks and swaps from the Harden deal.

I love how awful Jim Harden looks without all the trips to the line.....and the way bag twitter is bashing him now.

Beautiful

I'm pleasantly surprised they've listened to all the complaining of fans on this stuff the last few years and have so far actually enforced it. Still skeptical how long that goes on but so far so good. When they talked about in the offseason I gave it an eye roll and believe when I see it mindset but so far they've followed through.

Completely agree. If you're just slowing your cadence then it's still on the defender to not run through your back. Holmes did this perfectly in the above video with CP3.

But if you're stopping and moving into the defender, I'm ok with it being an O foul.

Yeah the 'take' foul is horrible and needs to go. Like I totally get why teams do it but fast breaks are exciting so they need to find a way get rid of that foul. Maybe they alow breaks to continue and reward an and 1 after or something. Someone smarter than me has to find a solution.

I'm actually not surprised the refs are doing well with the new rule. I don't think they liked being 'tricked' into calling the BS jump into a guy foul.

Yea it turns out they actually weren't being 'tricked', they knew it was BS but were following the letter of the rule. Actually makes me think much higher of them. I used to say so often "how can they fall for this, don't they watch the games after and see what's going on?" type things. Turns out they're not nearly that dumb, it was just the rules.

I was down with Russ bitching about someone getting a cheapy dunk late until the inevitable examples of Russ doing it himself in the past came out.

I just hate all the unwritten rules stuff in every sport. As a matter of sportsmanship I don't think you should do what Bazley did, but the appropriate response is nothing, and then eat him up and talk huge trash the next time you see him. That's not a rule, it's just the best.

Not only are the unwritten rules universally stupid, but it was a **** 6 point game. Crazier stuff has happened than a 3, steal, and 3 in the final 3 seconds. Russ was salty they blew a 26 point league. Period.

Westbrook was a horrible trade by the Lakers.

The trade will send Kyle Kuzma, Montrezl Harrell, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and the Lakers' No. 22 pick in Thursday's NBA Draft in exchange for Westbrook, a 2024 second-round pick and a 2028 second-round pick, sources added.

The Wizards then flipped the No. 22 pick to the Indiana Pacers for Aaron Holiday and the No. 31 pick, sources said.

Wizards will be 4-1 with all four of these guys above starting for them. Meanwhile the Lakers are 2-3.

Exactly. Two possession, actually 5 point game, which should be played until the buzzer. Russ is a lunatic and that's not just based on this play. Which he has done himself. An opponent's momentum and a crybaby don't mix well.

Lakers would have been a better team if they kept KCP and just traded Kuzma and Harrell for Hield. Would have also been able to use that pick to make other roster improvements.

Now if they got rid of flopping to draw charges as a defensive strategy, Giannis would average close to 40.

Unwritten rules should say Russ shouldn't have chased all those rebounds and assists to try and get his triple doubles, so really he's the last person who should be treated as an authority on this.

The irony of a dude who screams and flexes every time he dunks a basketball in the 3rd quarter of a random regular season game, calling out another player for "unwritten rules" crap is hilarious. Russ is a **** obnoxious hypocrite. Him and Lebron deserve each other.

I'm with NY. And to be clear, I'm with them mostly because I think they're harmless, if they were a legit threat maybe I wouldn't be.
But as it is I'm glad that NY has a team and Chicago has a team, those two combined are possibly the most popular basketball markets internationally, and they elevate the stage even further for everyone.
