Re: No MVP+Finals MVP Draft (1990-2009) - Discussion thread
Jason Kidd falls in the Grant Hill category- that is a guy who is consistently picked lower than his talent should place him.
In both cases I feel like people need to note that sometimes overall talent CAN trump imperfect fit.
Meanwhile I have no idea what I'm doing with my pick. I figured going in that taking Grant Hill was a tactical risk/probable mistake, but now I'd definitely seeing that most of the logical "fits" are gone. We'll have to wait and see I suppose. I've got a few ideas but none are jumping out at the moment.

Man Hardaway really fell imo, seriously considered him with 2nd pick along with hill and Clyde but thought Drexlers just a little more talented. Still didn't expect penny to go mid 4th thats wild.

Man, I totally just screwed that pick up. I think it will still work out for me in the end but I had Noah's 2012-13 listed on my spreadsheet for some reason.

Horace Grant is one of those super valuable role players who often gets overlooked because he costs more than most role players do.
He thrived from the mid range in the Jordan/Pippen offense though. So he’s perfect here.

Guys can we please at least get to the finals of the other game before we finish drafting here? Jesus Christ.

I think I would have enjoyed being at the bottom of the order in this one more.

I’ll confess I’m puzzled by Rashard over Detlef.

Rashard is a better defender while Detlef is a more dynamic offensive player.
I think Detlef is better in a vacuum [assume you think the same].

I never thought of Rashard as a plus defender - or is he just not as bad?
Comments to rationalize bad contracts -
1) It's less than the MLE
2) He can be traded later
3) It's only __% of the cap
4) The cap is going up
5) It's only __ years
6) He's a good mentor/locker room guy

He was a pretty average defender, Schrempf was better, though not great himself.
