He really looks like a witch to me. Hopefully being down in the center of creole vodoun as Halloween dawns will get him back in the groove.

When I think about how we could improve, I think my biggest takeaway is not the end of the game, but how we didn’t put the Bulls away when we should have. We were up by a fair amount at various points in the game, and then we’d commit dumb turnovers or take dumb shots. Clean that up and it’s a blowout.

No idea what Burks is doing out there. Randle has been great at times - but when teams apply the pressure...not good, not good at all.

I will celebrate every ugly win we get. Sometimes it ain't pretty. We got the W against a team that was undefeated in their building

Maybe some on here are too young, but the Riley\JVG era Knicks had a LOT of ugly wins that were close games. Actually, in retrospect, it felt like 90% of the wins.

I go back to the 69-70 championship team - but this was the Knicks not scoring in the final three minutes, Randle missing two key FTs, Burks throwing like the worst inbounds pass that I've seen a while, etc. RJ saved us with a defensive stop.

The scary thing here, in particular, is Randle reverting to his Atlanta playoff series form. We need him to be the real thing,. That's another reason why I would be reluctant to move Toppin.

Dame is going to suck the life out of the team because POR is going to want everything in return.

I'd love to have him, but he's too rich for us to get.

they would take everything useful to them not named randle and probs find a way to **** our contract sitch as well. If that trade is made, those two better be a helluva two man team

It won't be enough. Thibs especially will play those two long minutes and then we wouldn't have the assets to give them help.

His time will come soon enough. Thibs still giving IQ respect

And Burks.

Thibs has been excellent. I'm wary of him giving vets wayyyy too much rope (Elf, cough!) but Thibs kind of makes moves organically and with some respect to the player getting benched in favor of the other guy and the overall team vibe. And if the benched player can't handle it, they get sent packing. Like Rivers.

So, I think Grimes has impressed him, but Thibs, rightly so for team chemistry, is going to give IQ\Burks every chance to keep (or lose) the spot.

If it happens, around game 30. Hunch.

Seems like we just try to kill the clock out and go into last second isos.

Basically seems like we just want to use nearly all 24 seconds and hopefully close out the game on defense.

The ISO randle stuff has got to stop. Thibs just reverts to that after the entire game we are moving the ball.

But the end of game is different it's like playoff basketball. Which ATL was doing the same **** to randle all series.

Randle doesn't really have a post up game so he doesn't have an easy way to get a basket outside of a fadeaway jumper

IQ has been horrendous, and Burks, I don’t get it, some have defended him here but I just don’t see it.
Give me Grimes please.

the Celtics game I didn't really come away with a concrete conclusion

but watching us play the bulls was very clear that were the better team. they couldn't score on us in half court and their best moments were Vucevic plays. Their guards couldn't figure out our PNR coverages. Lonzo Ball is a complete non factor in half court sets (as ive been trying to tell people all along). we played all of the coverages and Taj was huge in shutting down their pnr plays in the first half which really set the tone for us.

our bench of IQ/Burks/Obi/Rose is also simply better than theirs.

Thibs is the coach of the year, he knows what he's doing. That's how he took the worst team in the NBA to home court advantage in the playoffs and now I see we are the #1 seed in the eastern conference. Grimegobblers will just have to be patient.

This guy reminds me of Howard Eisley and Shannon Anderson.

His defense is so awful and is only a matter of time before Thibs reduces his minutes to bench minutes. I rather see IQ more and hopefully Grimes and McBride with some minutes.

The NBA guy in charge of covering the point spread gave the refs the nod. Bulls were 1.5 point favorites. Sometimes it's too obvious.

There can be virtues to giving guys enough rope. If they play themselves out of the rotation it is not because Thibs yanked their chain. They won’t be traumatized by the coach at least.

And the flipside is once you get some daylight you might play yourself into a bigger role. It is going to happen now with Obi who is displaying clutch tendencies.

Just going to venture a guess on Randle. He's adjusting to Kemba more than anything.
Elf didn't demand too many shots with his playing style. He'd occasionally just for for his layup.
Randle and RJ had the ball a lot together. Swapping in the better and similar offensive player in Fournier and that adjust is pretty seamless. But Kemba is a guard who looks for his shot more than Elf, which isn't a criticism. And I think dribbles it more, or certainly to more places on the court, since he's an actual good PG. So Randle is adjusting, maybe trying to do too much. Spitballing here.

He's a hellava coach, but his robotic offensive sets need to change. He can run ISOs every now and then, but I'm sure even the Bulls knew they were coming.

Our biggest strength is ball movement and spreading the floor and we went away from it at the end of the game.
