Steph Curry is +500 for Mvp

Post#1 » by GSP » Fri Oct 29, 2021 3:50 am

This is close to a lock if you wanna make money

Nets suck. Harden is Felton 2.0 with the new rules. Kd won't win enough games with Kyrie retired too.

Giannis the only threat in East. Embiid will get hurt and miss 20 games like every season

They'll finish top 3 in West only Utah will be 100% better record.

Jokic won't repeat. Mavs winning a top 3 seed unlikely. No Kawhi and he's not a regular season player. Pg13 won't carry the Clips far enough. Bron will be resting and taking games off and Lakers defense is ass. Ad? Lol

Tatum won't separate himself from Jaylen enough. Trae is a looooongshot. Same with Ja. Dame same song and dance he's never in the end of season convo despite some blazing hot months to close

No one else worth mentioning as a serious candidate.

Considering Curry's injury history, it definitely isn't even close to a lock

I would suggest not ruling out guys like Luka, Trae, Mitchell, Booker, Lavine

Also I don’t see why Jokic can’t repeat. If the nuggets manage a top 3 seed with Murray out for so long, he’s definitely in the discussion again

It’s an interesting option at +500 but it’s far from a lock

Way too soon to see Steph as a clear favorite for it imo. Gonna have to wait until at least 20 games to see how teams are doing. I do expect Steph to be top 3 in voting though(so long as he plays in like 70+ games). I wouldn't count LeBron out either though.

Not when he keeps getting 0 points in the fourth quarter.

Kerr needs to stop with this BS of sitting him until the 4-5 minute mark of the 4th quarter, especially in a game like tonight where the bench is blowing it. He was red hot and they had been handling Memphis with ease in the minutes he was in.

That said, in all of these games they're just comically overloading on him late so he's deferring to the open options. Worked outside of tonight (they just could not quit with the turnovers to keep Memphis in it). I'm certainly not worried about Curry's 4th quarter scoring ability though. He has a ton of 4th quarter scoring records and absolutely torched the league in the 4th last year (again, why Kerr needs to end this BS of icing him until he goes in at the 4:30 mark of a tight game).

As far as +500 for an MVP choice this early, that's just a terrible bet.

Ya, personally I think Kerr is overrated in a few different ways. Mostly to do with roster/player management. He's very stubborn about it as well.

If Curry didn't play today, they would have lost by at least 40. He's the only thing that's kept the Warriors competitive tonight. Seeing how much playing time he got, I bet he told Kerr he wanted to avenge last years play-in loss vs Memphis. He overexerted himself in terms of effort and minutes today and was bound to start missing with the fast and frenetic Memphis defenders all up in his face.

That's the best value you can actually get for an MVP candidate like Steph. +500 is a very good futures price in betting odds like these.

I'm a warrior die hard.

This is just wrong though.

He hasn't scored in the last 4 games in the 4th....

What's wrong about that statement though? How many points do you think Warriors would have lost by tonight if Curry wasn't playing? Unless you're prime LeBron or Jordan, you can't carry the entire team on your back night in and night out

We can rule-out Doncic, he has no idea how to win, they won't win enough games.
Mitchell lives in Golbert's shadow, Booker lives in Paul's shadow.

Or prime Rose or prime Kobe or prime Olajuwon.

The "overexerted" part was wrong.

KD is a legit candidate - u really think Brooklyn will win less games than GSW?

+500 looks to be fair value tbh.

I'm not ruling out Luka completely but he can he get a top 3 seed? I don't think Dallas is good enough

Trae is like a level below. Book and Lavine? C'mon brah neither are Mvp level. Mitchell shows up in the playoffs he's never been and still isn't better than Rudy in the regular season who is easily their regular season anchor

I will say if the Warriors a top 3 team at the end of the season, Curry stands a good chance. The NBA voters love a narrative and the return of The Warriors to the top of the West would be a big one.

Still a long way to go to see if this is a reality though, just because they are 4-1 to start means nothing.
