Great signing.

How bad is our pass rush been then, as he would be leading our team in sacks for the year with 3? (Tied with Kenny)

Wait, you mean that if a GM reaches out to veteran players about joining the Pack with ARod at QB players those players might actually agree to play in Green Bay?

And for less money?

But I thought no one ever wanted to come to Green Bay ... or was that just ballwashing excuse for Ted's refusal to make just these types of moves during ARod's prime?

Got to give Gute credit for trying anyway.

I may have missed the tweet where other teams offered him more. If so I'd honestly like to see who.

Good low risk signing though. Yes its good Gute is more proactive on bringing guys in mid-season

This is exactly the kind of signing TT would do tho. A veteran cut as a cap casualty so you don't lose a conditional draft pick. It's how we got Julius Peppers iirc

Gute is obviously more aggressive in other ways tho

Not going to get too excited b/c he's been bad this year, but I guess they moved him to DE instead of his normal 3-4 OLB where he normally is. He'll be playing that here, so hopefully he'll be more productive.

According to reports multiple teams offered up draft capital for him (probably 6th round pick) but the Texans agreed to cut Mercilus in order for him to sign with a contender. If that's true, you have to believe those same teams offered him similar to what was on his last deal (which is at least twice as much as we paid him).

I've loved Mercilus for quite some time. One of the GOAT last names. Mercilus/Savage upping our intimidation name game.

I always thought that Sonny Sixkiller (College QB in the '70s) had the best intimidation name

That's surprising. The only time I listen is to the post game when driving home from Lambeau

I think the last post-game I listened to was on the drive home from Lambeau after Favre beat the Packers. It was on for about 20 seconds, then dead silence for three hours.

Literally every Wisconsin sports postgame show.

10 seconds of dead air before the host finally asks if the person is there and that they're on the air. 15 seconds of the caller telling us their name and asking if they're on the air. Then depending on if the team won or lost the caller repeating the same basic point that should take about 20 seconds to say taking 2-3 minutes in the most awful of accents.

2nd time I've heard this, but who knows how likely it is. It'd be nice to have another burner other than MVS (and Cooks is obviously a more complete WR)
