I bet the Warriors regret not tanking Franz.

We’re talking about the Magic, not the warriors.

The many high praisers of Suggs will be wrong, much to the demise of the Magic. I actually like the Magic but you guys didn’t get the ‘steal of the draft’ like many have claimed

why are you on a Magic board?

No one on this board claimed that.

Franz could end up being the steal of the draft.

We had Elfrid shooting better from 3 his rookie year but I don’t think anyone was optimistic about him becoming a good shooter, let alone a great one, because it was hideous.

Maybe it’s the homer in me but I’m more worried about his finishing (and I’m not worried about either aspect). Needs to get that Fultz layup package.

Don't worry about it. If you noticed, he was hacked and bumped a lot and not getting any calls. Same with Green from HOU, you saw how many drives and dunk attempts he tried wherein he gets fouled but no calls? It's probably the rookie thing.

Look at Cole last season, we were having the same complaints why he doesn't finish well when in college he could. We saw the replays where he did gt hack going through the hoop but we didn't hear any calls.

I agree, if anything it is Franz / Giddy that would be the steal of the draft based on the majority's perception on that they were taken too early.

Besides we were to happily shocked by Suggs dropping to us to claim that Suggs is a steal LOL We didn't wanna bad-mouth the Raps org by gifting to us Suggs.

He is one of those insecure Raps-troll trying to justify their Barnes pick and defending the criticism on passing up Suggs. LOL As I said we are living rent-free is some Raps posters head.

Any Magic posters go to the Raps board and " beat the chest" when Suggs did something good? We are just too happy when Suggs dropped to us to actually laugh at others.

Need to just temp ban from our subforum and ignore. There's enough noise here as it is from Magic fans. We don't need more, certainly not from people arguing at a strawman.

Draft predictions were months ago. No one cares anymore. We're just trying to watch our team in peace.

Yeah, if you're a visitor on the board with only the intention to troll or talk **** after 5 games, don't continue you will get a temp ban. I'm all for visiting fans that want to have discussions that are productive but if your only intention is to rile up our fanbase I'd advise to go back to your board.

I mean... I welcome posters from other boards. They can give alternate perspectives that we aren't familiar with, particularly about the teams they support. I don't really care if they are critical of our players.

However, if someone shows up in our forum, supporting another team, and having only a handful of posts? It certainly seems to me that they created an alternate account just to come in and start ****.

Gilbert spoke the truth. Suggs sadly was way overhyped and will totally underwhelm. I feel sad for Magic fans and especially him because he really is a great guy.

His basketball skillset isn’t top tier caliber, he has no handles, no shot, not a great passer either. He'll be decent but not the game changer that many hailed him to be

Lol foh.

Raps fan here.

Suggs is a positive defender at the guard position. That is not a small deal -- it's the most talented position in the league.

Offensively, sure he's struggling, but tbh it's far from the optimal line-up for him. He's a pure point guard and he's not being given those keys or the bigs to work with (I like Bamba, for the record.).

Hopefully Isaac can come back and play soon. He gives much-needed depth at the 3/4.

Loved his game tonight. Best game of the season for him no doubt!
I've always been a believer that he'll be a superstar & tonight was proof why. Loved his activity on both ends of the floor. Y'all got a special one.

I still think him & Cole won't be able to coexist. I think Cole hurts the development of Suggs, at least impedes it.

We got an amazing one in Scottie. And y'all got an amazing one in Suggs. League is in great hands!

Good game.

Suggs need to move to PG to succeed, IMO.

In college, he had his way because he was a lot stronger than those guys, but inn the NBA, its a lot different. Guys are a lot bigger. longer, and stronger.

The lineup where Cole was in without Suggs killed us. Vanvleet abused him. Once we get Fultz back, Suggs will be able to guard the best guard the entire game.

Game versus Toronto was the first one i watched Barnes full game and i must say i am more pleased with Suggs and Wagner.
Barnes role was really limited compared to Suggs and even Wagner. He scored almost exclusively on open midrangers that we propably wanted him to shoot. He happened to make them but i would give him that look everytime. He didnt create any advantages for their offense. He looked really similar to AG on a hot streak, but maybe smarter. Defensively he was nothing spectacular. He cant guard smaller players like Wagner can.
Suggs had his struggles but he didnt settle for long two's like Scottie. He really collapsed Toronto defense on many occasions and made the right play. His finishing is kind of bad, but thats easier to correct than getting to the rim.
Wagner was interesting. Was it only me seeing him starting to change speeds when on the ball ? It didnt went in a lot, but shots he created were decent.
I stand by my opinion before the draft, i prefer Wagner to Barnes. In the end our two rookies shined in the clutch and Barnes just disappeared as expected when defense tightens.
My money is on Banchero going number 1 !
