The running floaters were something I didn't think we're part of his repertoire.

VVagner has been so good. Looking forward to him expanding his game and seeing what he can be.

Comparing him to where Okeke was early last season. He seems miles ahead. Granted Chuma really improved as the season went on.
Franz also two full years younger than Okeke was last season.

Even if he just continues to get better at what he does now....that could be insanely valuable to winning basketball. If he adds some offensive skills...yikes.

Ironically, I'm most interested to see if Chuma and Franz look even better together...the two guys who are generally lauded as "being in the right place, making the right play" above all else...could be a compounding effect together.

Those floaters at 6'10 are unstoppable and he has real touch. He had scored on running hooks in college, and now against more athletic defenders he is using a floater. His body is still so underdeveloped, he will be a force in 2-3 years.

Pretty good 1st half shooting wise, their SFs killed us this game though.

Here is another thing I noticed, in summer league and preseason he was fading away on his 3s but now he is going straight up and releasing and thus going in. He has a good form, just keep the balance on the shot.

One of my favorite things to watch this season is a couple times a game some player will size up Franz 1-on-1 on the perimeter, put a couple moves on to get about 15 feet from the basket... then pick up the dribble and make an awkward pass out of it once they realize they've made a terrible mistake.

I'd like to call it getting Franzed on the play.

Even with all of the talent returning from injury...I see Franz locking in the starting 3 job.

You are propably right but i am curious if he couldnt play the 2. He is staying with guards on defense and he can space the floor. I am not so enamored with our guards to cut some of them out of rotation on some nights,

I like that thought a lot tbh. At least until Fultz comes back, we could separate Anthony and Suggs with him at the 2, so each unit has a PG to run the show. Plus we could start Okeke at the 3, would be a long boi lineup.

Unless Isaac comes back and slots right into SF...if Mose is so pleased with Bamba/WCJ at 4/5...but who would go to the bench. Franz could slide to 2...I don't want Suggs out and I can't see them sending Cole to the bench, at least until Fultz is back...maybe some clues tonight as Okeke is probable.

Haha, that’s awesome !

Reminds me of when Isaac first came in the league, I used to love when a team would run their pick and roll to create an ISO match up of PG vs PF except that PF was Isaac and he would lock up the PG as he tried to ISO on him.

I would bring Suggs of the bench. I like him a lot but those starting defensive stoppers are eating his lunch. Anthony played suprisingly well so far i must admit. I would like to see Anthony/Wagner/Okeke/Isaac/Carter.
Thats smarts, length and some bravado. To be totally sincere i dont think it will happen this season. We are not that deep at the forward spot.

The two key components of getting Franzed:

  • Player obviously sizing up Franz for an iso because he's white and a rookie
  • The play can't end with a steal or a block or a missed shot, it must end with the opponent stopping awkwardly to pass the ball out desperately after he realizes he made a mistake

It happens at least a couple times a game, keep an eye out for it!

Franz is born in Berlin, so obviously his nickname should have some reference about it, here are some ideas:
- Checkpoint Franz
- Berlin Wall
