I like this. He's actually a legitimate 4 that can maybe flex to a 5 in Billy's system. He would certainly be a major improvement over Alize as he can do all the same things but actually pass & shoot a little bit. He's skilled.

If we are going to bring someone in it should be a flier on a young prospect that has a puncher's chance of breaking out. Bringing in an old vet wouldn't really raise the ceiling of the team & assumes we are in win now mode for a championship. I don't think we are there.

I think we should still be collecting young prospects instead of dealing for guys that have peaked.

RHJ is 6'6.

With a 7'2" wingspan.

I’m guessing we’d bring in Stanley Johnson (and cut or trade Matt Thomas) before RHJ, because we already had him on our preseason roster.

We may wait on the tampering investigation to see what picks we have left under our control before we make a move. If we have to cut Thomas to sign someone like Stanley Johnson, that eliminates most of our buffer under the LT threshold, which might matter if we want to make another, more significant move at the deadline.

Complicated. This is why I’m glad I’m on RealGM and not, well, a real GM.

I wonder if the Wizards would be willing to part ways with Deni Avdija for a 1st? He's looked pretty underwhelming thus far but it might be worth taking a flyer on him. Also, the Wizards have a logjam at 4 and need to make room for Hachimura.

A reasonable idea. Not sure if management would be interested enough considering his underwhelming first year.

I'd trade for Deni Advija. He was hurt much of last year.
He can shoot, pass, and score near the basket. He will be fine.
He will improve a lot. Not sure who we trade for him, though.

I feel like at worst he'd give us similar production to Pat. He's better defensively and worse offensively. Although he was projected as a good shooter out of Tel Aviv, he's been mostly streaky in the NBA. Deni is the type of player you take a chance on and hope a change of scenery helps his game.

I'm willing to keep an eye on WASH. They have Kuzma with an acceptable contract, Bertans with too much contract, Hachimura injured and seemingly the choice to start for them, they drafted Isiah Todd, Bryant injured, Gafford I think is injured, Harrell.

Who they want, who they can't trade, who they don't want. If they knew there could be a deal

Avdija, would not be the best option, he's 6-9 but only 210, to me he's a SF. But they invested in KCP and drafted Kispert, combined with al the bigs they have maybe they would like to move Avdija.

There was an article about who Boston could add to Brown and Tatum and of course it was Beal. Unless BOS wants a bunch of those front court guys I don't know how it works but if there was any way for the Bulls to get in the middle of all that and take one of those WASH Bigs or somehow end up with Al Horford for his one year, year 2 being non guaranteed, that would be something

You can't look past any possibility

I wanted him in that draft class. Solid player.

Houston would trade Wood?

Yeah why would Houston want to trade Christian Wood. He’s 26 years old and just entering his prime.

I would be willing to trade Coby white for Harrell. I think Washington would bite at that with hachimura coming back. And its worth it to me as Harrell is the energy and toughness and rebounding and finishing we sorely need in the frontcourt. And he hit a three tonight even…

He’s horrible on defense can’t play the 4 and Vuc is big minutes at the 5?

I disagree. I think he is better defensively than you say and i think he is better suited to the 4. His rebounding, toughness, and inside scoring is sorely needed by us.

Hard to make any trades now as teams don’t know where they stand in the league as it’s too early. Washington is off to an amazing start, they aren’t going to dump a major contributor right now.

It's a team clearly in tank mode, and if they think Wood's contributions are leading to unwanted wins they'd be smart to try to either trade him away or make him fake an injury. IMO, he has an empty stats reputation, so I doubt he'll be available unless it's for a lot of juicy draft picks.
