Mental mistakes on defense, players still trying to settle into their roles on offense and hesitation in the clutch yet figuring out ways to win in the end.

Top rated offense so far even with inconsistent performances and a fairly respectable defense though there are lapses that need to be cleaned up.

Quick unpack of this, though probably already covered.

Knicks still integrating two new guys into the offense.
Those two guys have varied games and are FAR more complete offensive players than the players replaced, so it's not like Bullocks got replaced by prime Kyle Korver and Elf by....anything.
These are guys who can do a bit of everything, deserve to have the ball in their hands sometimes, others to be in the P&R, both with Randle, each other, other players like Mitch etc.
Randle had to adjust from trying to do too much by himself under Fizzle, to not forcing too much and trusting his teammates while still dominating the team. Now it's a 3rd adjustment to keep sharing the ball, but picking spots of when to exert his will, and at times he won't.

Also, though of course we won't act like this on here, but if every player on the team had the kind of game the fans expect, where the starters all average about 18 points every game and the bench gives around 40, the Knicks would average 130 ppg, and that's not happening. Of course.
So, every game, some players are going to score and other guys aren't.
Now the Knicks can win without everyone bringing the "A" game.

It's really not just Shamms and Melo etc that are horrible people. It's 99% of the board.

I can’t help but wonder who you consider to be the 1%

For me it’s nbabrothers

I was just being polite.

It's 100%

And his grandma is a gravy chef.

His dietician is actually his mom

I'm also pretty sure his personal trainer is his stepfather

Which seems not ideal, imo.

I figured his dietician was an Italian grandmother.

3 parts fat and add in some more fat. Then render the fat in fat and add more fat!

Zion could be a generational talent... but... he's fatter than Melo! He has about 12 more months in the league. He's Greg Oden and Roy combined? Can't remember Roy first name bit I know it's not Patrick.

RJ is gonna be a beast. I compared him to the importance of Pippen. After calling him a bust after 2 SL games! He's an all around baller.

Zion is a big fat pig with a 5 year lifespan in the NBA

He's like someone cloned Shawn Kemp and Michael Sweetney.

Would Zion be encouraged to get in shape for real if he was in NY?

I've never been this confident about the Knicks. I don't expect a title run...(I could see a '99 Cinderella run) but..I can root for this team. It's surreal. I have not felt like this since Dolan took over. That 54 win team was a fluke in comparison. After 6 games ... I'm satisfied. We may fall short but...when w was a the last time you could expect playoffs around here? I have a Pistons type vibe right now. The East is wide open and if we can sustain this...who knows? I haven't felt this comfortable as a fan in over 20 years.

Unfortunately two of them, Fournier and Kemba, are older mercenary types of the kind Dolan likes, so could not enjoy.

:D

“Win now” players are only a symptom of Dolan’s main flaw —there’s obviously nothing wrong with “win now” players AS LONG AS YOU’RE WINNING.

I have no problem enjoying the show, but my guard is up for Dolan’s biggest flaw — volatility trending toward delusional quick-fix snake oil. He could fire all these people faster than the cocaine heart rate of his next Russian “girlfriend” sitting front row.

Agreed it's correct to be vigilant about Dolan forcing the big "all chips on the table in an incredibly stupid way" move.

Loved me some Shawn Kemp. That Sonics team was fun. Don't ever mention Michael Sweetney again!

I have very little to be happy about in life right now... don't mention Marbury/Francis/Curry/Zeke/Dolan/Charles Smith/Bargnani/Melo/PG list/ Etc. It's just too much to handle for me!!!!!!!

This year is the first year of the rest of my life!

us nyers are used to it, but apparently hernan-gomez complained about ny smelling like food. New orleans would probs be worse, but we're not far off

I fell asleep after watching maybe a quarter and thinking the game was going to be a sleeper. It turned out not to be, but anyone watching.

Do you think they made adjustments to not always run the game through Randle. Maybe it was just playing the hot hand, but I like what I saw.
Go Knicks!! Go Mets!!

As for the Jets . . . just keep it entertaining.

He gained a lb for every minute he sucked! That's science fiction! What FA is coming next year. I'm not trading for anyone unless Randle is the centerpiece!
