It sucks but he’d look better in a more experienced team. Ceebs tracking it but the amount of clanks on open looks off his passes is probably up the top league wide lol.

Him on the Warriors would be filth, but that goes for a lot of young players (have no clue if GSW are serious about going for it).

For me the clear RoY is Mobley. He's the only rookie with a positive TPA and bulk minutes.

You mean he's not the steal of the draft, and Magic fans aren't still thanking the Raptors for passing on Suggs ?

I mean some of you Raps fans are super insecure and argue in our forum about ****.

Enjoy Scottie. Most of us have said he's played really well so far, that's undeniable.

The NBA isn't about the first 2 weeks in the season though. I hope both of them have great careers.

Where was this energy when Magic fans were trolling Raptor fans? You drafted a bit taller and athletic JJ Reddick. He'll never be on Barnes level. Deep down you know it.

I mean I went to your board after and 70% of your board was like "WTF???" and Magic fans were celebrating because we didn't think we'd have a chance at Suggs. Me and another mod had a podcast talking about Scottie Barnes and saying we'd be perfectly fine with him even if his shot didn't come along but he was getting underrated by our own board.

Magic fans are petty and shortsighted when it comes to a lot of things but a lot of Raps fans on here are mad insecure. Hence the chants and the trolling because your rookie had a better start. Have a cookie, I hope he hangs on a plaque on the wall that says "had a better first two weeks of the season than Suggs".

It sucks because I like Barnes but you fans ruin it.

Anyway, back to discussing rooks.. didn't realize Warriors had Kuminga playing today. Would be nice for him to be able to carve out some consistent minutes somehow but that just can't be done right now.

You're also being quite petty with your "I hope he hangs a plaque on the wall..." comment as if you're waiting for him to hit a rough patch so you can return the favour to Raptors fans like some are doing to Suggs now.

Fans of every team heckle during games, especially when the opposition is at the free throw line -- and even more so late in a close game. I don't know why people are being so sensitive about what happened last night. Is it because Suggs is a rookie and he should be immune to any kind of heckling/negativity?

Being mad because Raptors fans are jumping on the Barnes bandwagon and giving him all of the support and love in the world is also weird. He's playing at an insanely high level (basically all-star level to start his NBA career) and he looks like he's been in the league for years. Why shouldn't we be excited and talking him up in the rookie thread?

No one is saying you can't be excited... I'm saying if Suggs was playing better than Barnes and we picked him before Barnes the last thing I would want to do is **** talk Barnes or go to the Raps forum and rub it in your faces. Never did I say is there an issue with hyping up Barnes.. but some of you guys like to bring down other rookies to prop your rookie up.

It isn't only aimed at the Raps fanbase, a lot of ppl do this but to me that's ****. And I don't really care about the chants, they can chant whatever tbh.. it helped Suggs out lol. Just saying clearly some Raps fans have Suggs in their head a lot.

Yeah couldn’t get a read playing in junk time basically. I was high on him but pegged it back. His age and size is intriguing

A lot of rookies this year I like so I can’t get my pants wet over one game unlike others here lol

What does it say when the rookie who apparently had the worst offensive game, to the point where some analysts claimed he would be a liability on offence, is not only leading all rookies in scoring, but is leading his own team in scoring and FG%.

The one weakness and primary flaw that was placed on Barnes has seemingly been mitigated - I think thats **** huge and is enough to put him on top of the mountain until he hits the rookie wall.

I don't want to hijack this thread into Raps vs Magic fans but I want to add my two cents. Most Raptor fans were in the Suggs bandwagon on draft day and were quite stunned at the pick. To add to that, Magic fans on social media and on RealGM trolled us about the supposed screw up. I've read many posts saying: What was toronto thinking!?! They picked poor mans Draymond lol

You can't tell me that you didn't expect any retaliation from an insecure fanbase once the season started? (I totally agree that there are lots of insecure Raps fans, probably due to the age of the majority).

I personally hated the stupid chant during the game and the media trying to make them hate each other. But I don't think its fair to say the Raptors fans started this one. There are Magic posters in this thread (I'm sure you know which ones) who subtly troll Barnes all the time with MCW and worse than Simmons posts. Some of us are secure enough to laugh and hit them back with Wagner/Bargnani and Suggs/His Stats jokes. I'm looking forward to the rest of the year and the funny banter lol

The only thing that held back Mobley in college was a consistent motor and being aggressive offensively. With an 82 game season, I'm sure he'll have a decent amount of games with less than 10 FGA.

Banton's defense is legit. Nurse loves him. Masai was hyping him up before the season started. Zach Lowe is writing about him to make sure everyone knows he was in on the ground floor. I'm not saying he needs to be added to the poll, but he's doing a lot of good things out there.
