And I don't know how anyone who has watched this offense in the half court doesn't think Siakam could help it out.

They're casuals. Many became fans after the chip run.

He doesn't have to go. Siakam can be 2nd banana next to Barnes like he was to Kawhi. He's shown he's good enough as a 2nd option. Add OG and we got something brewing. I know people don't like to tank but damn imagine Hardy or Banchero coming to this team? We would be stacked.

I think the one concern re: Siakam and his future with his team is the lack of clarity on his role as this became an issue last season with him and Nurse.

The emergence of Barnes is surely going to add another level of complication to his role but this is where I trust in our Coaching Staff and FO to be transparent with Pascal and the rest of the team.

From the sidelines and a few short interview segments, it seems Pascal really likes Scottie and ego aside, I believe they not only can co-exist but can thrive together as they both are play makers and indisputably bring all the energy.
I'm very excited to see what this team can do with a core of Barnes, Pascal, FVV, and OG.

Also, it's week freaking 2. Let's give them an entire season to work out their chemistry. Playoff bound or not, this season should be focused on development and we have one hell of a star to support during their development.

My only worry with the Barnes and Siakam fit is that neither looks like they're particularly effective at scoring in iso situations where the defense won't just let them drive into the paint. We'll have to be really creative off-the-ball and utilize Scottie's passing skills in those situations to consistently get above-average percentage looks.

There is no "in fairness"

Fans of the Toronto Raptors should not criticize calculated moves our front office makes. Why? Because they don't see the full picture.

Let this be a lesson until the day Masai leaves.

I'll take these types of comments more seriously when people start to realize that Webster is the gm...

By all accounts Webster has been thecone making these calls and decisions.. kawhi trade was Webster too...

Webster is just a puppet.

The upgrade from OG to a "star" is pretty small when you consider both sides of the ball.
Why would u want to get rid of OG, the value of OG and Scottie being able to switch and lock down just about anyone is invaluable. You don't trade that...

You try to package everyone else for an offensive stud but by no means do OG or Scottie go anywhere

Show me the SG and SF of every championship team in the past 20 yrs and tell me if Scottie and OG can give the same offensive output as them.

Role players are meant to support Stars, offensive scoring stars.

Where exactly will this offensive stud play?

PG? the player whos role is to distribute?
PF? Where Siakam is already proven capable of being a good Robin?
or C where we got by with a Marc Gasol on his last legs?

Scottie Barnes 'bout to pull a Magic Johnson and lead his team to a 'ship in his rookie season.

Why trade for a star offensive stud when I already have the best option to stop the oppositions offensive stud.

I'm **** tired of this archaic #1/2/3 option bull. Why can't we have 5 starters who can each drop 16-22 like clockwork so we don't have to do this predictable bull.

Because as good as OG is defensively, KDs and Kwahis and Lebrons will still drop 30+ on him in the PO

Lets be real here. The Raptors were a defensive juggernaut but we dont get it done without Kawhis offence.

If we hypothethically get a Kobe/Wade/KD/Kawhi added to this Raptors team, where is OG and Scottie gonna fit?

Same, looking forward to Pascal and Yuta’s return. At the same time, I also don’t want Scottie’s ROY (and all-star!?) chances to decrease…

This is protegee. This is what its like to have true talent on your team. Guys like Siakam and Fred & OG didnt come from those environments.

The word you want is prodigy.

prodigy - noun - a person, especially a young one, endowed with exceptional qualities or abilities.

edit: fixed protege definition
protege - noun - a person who is guided and supported by an older and more experienced or influential person.

The inverse to this is if the defense has to worry about both driving to the paint, which one do you cover? Which do you double team?

Spat which was totally overblown and has been put to rest both by Nurse and Pascal.

What really "says enough" is watching Pascal on the bench every game up and cheering the team, excited. That's a guy chomping at the bit to get out there

lol siakam loves scottie and i can guarantee you he sees how special he is. ive gained a bit of a new appreciation for siakam watching him on the sidelines cheering his team on. its clear hes a good dude and great teammate. with scottie actually having an offensive game, i think he and siakam actually gonna compliment each other better than any other 2 on the team. siakam looks like the joy is back and thats a dangerous siakam.

HE STAY.

ye the circumstances around this team the past 15 or so months have been super difficult, moreso than any other team in the NBA. its natural that theres gonna be tension and some blowups, they seem absolutely fine now.

What's he gonna do sulk as Scottie dominates? Behind close doors reveals a person.

None of us see behind closed doors, so what in the world are you talking about? Just inventing problems that don't exist.
