Extra hits home for me because I grew up in a small town, went to Catholic school and was an alter boy. I also share some of the questions/issues with the church expressed on the show. Obviously not to turn this into a religion discussion but I think the show has done a really good job with the topic.

As per usual with Flanagan's shows, I wouldn't really say it's scary, but it's very very well made. I can't wait for his Edgar Allan Poe adaptation that he's working on now.
I also love to guess which of his usual actors will show up. His wife is a certain.

The Morning Show on Apple TV might be the worst television show in the history of television. It's like they're faking drama. It's the most contrived piece of horse **** I've ever witnessed.

For a show that's always all over the place episode 2 of Curb tonight was really all over the place. Some good laughs. Leon and Susie especially. As usual.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Leon made me laugh out loud with a line or two.

I don’t find abortion funny, and that is not meant to take sides.

This was a scattered episode, coming off a scattered first episode.

The dog stuff and the dentist stuff seems repetitive from previous episodes. Though the bit about lyimg about arrival time on the clipboard was pretty inspired.

I went and saw Dune at the recently reopened IMAX in Fitchburg and was blown away. Well worth it if you can check it out (the theater itself is understaffed and needs maintenance though).

I also finally got around to watching the Dr Death miniseries on Peacock. It’s pretty damn good, Christian Slater steals the show and I thought Joshua Jackson (ducks fly together) did a hell of a job as the lead. Alec Baldwin played the typical Alec Baldwin role and unsurprisingly it worked. It’s a shame that it’s hidden away on Peacock, I’m sure it would’ve been a hit if it had been on a more prevalent streaming platform.

These two movies are guilty pleasures of mine, definitely giving this a watch...

Saw Dune tonight. I know nothing of the source material but it was fine? 2.5 hours is a lot to get through without anything really happening but maybe it’ll seem better once the story had concluded.

Saw an early screening of Eternals in Chicago, I liked it. A little slower than your normal MCU stuff but I enjoyed it.

The first 3 episodes of Succession have been about everyone picking a side and jockeying for position. Time to get moving.

I’m not a huge drugs/gangster guy. But all the seasons/installments of Narcos have been excellent. Compelling source material, good acting, fun cinematography, great pacing, grit and authenticity. And I now know all the Spanish swears.

I loved the original Narcos and the newer one. Sad this is the last season, looking forward to watching it.

 was talking with my friend who is fluent and was joking how I only know very basic spanish, but I know all of the drug names and swears. New season drop took me by surprise. Good timing.
