And it's the culture throughout that gives foundation and rise to each generation of Spurs. For its 75th anniversary, the NBA is announcing a list of 75 greatest players in league history. We have three Spurs so far and counting:

I'm sure Manu will be on the list, but in the meantime, a behind-the-scenes look at his scenes for the NBA Lane commercial:

Great to see Manu around more, and especially with the Spurs now.

EDIT to add: Neither four-time NBA Champion and one of the best international players ever nor four-time NBA Champion and NBA Finals MPV were included in the top-75 players. League never ceases to expose itself and its interests.

You know when you see players' faces in these types of videos and you can tell the smiles are plastic for the camera because the eyes aren't excited? This is NOT that video at all!

Love seeing their excitement.

It was announced previously that AT&T would no longer have naming rights, so this is a step in the direction of finding another sponsor:

Hmm uuuh *sigh* ok we'll see how this goes. We seem to have a good relationship with this agency, but I don't trust the way they operate in the league. Not sure it 'means' anything, but I am kind of surprised that Keldon went this route. They gave a package deal of signing his brother who plays for us in Austin, too, so that's incentive from the get-go. I trust PATFO, let's leave it at that:

Slightly OT as it's not about this season's team, but this is a fine tribute to the Ice Man, and well deserving:

Uuugh here we **** go again. Several weeks or thereabouts after some whispers about Pop potentially continuing to coach for another maybe one to two seasons, there's Hammon doing another public availability tour:
Read on Twitter

I get it, she was asked a direct question. But there are many ways of answering it. Or not doing another public resume tour that however intended puts a spotlight on the organization she works for and gets some type of reaction on social media. Look, the Spurs are going to do what's best for a $2B franchise. This type of thing has to be at least a bit distasteful for top brass, yes?

It's curious how maybe a couple of years ago or so she was actually offered a college HC position. Didn't want it, saying NBA is her goal. She's had plenty of interviews in the NBA. So if she wants WNBA, perhaps best to do it behind the scenes rather than another press tour which resonates in multiple signals.

Again, is there another assistant coach that does so this type of press for her own promotion? Is she repped by Klutch?

I admit my bias right now as I don't trust where any of this is coming from ever since she did an interview with Jabari Young of all choices. So to whatever extent this is all innocuous, there's hardly a benefit of the doubt given the pattern of self-promotion, given all the assistants there are in the league, given the position it keeps putting the Spurs in. Tacky.

In positive team news, we're valued at $2.05B :o

Didn't go up or down, which is big considering all the vets who draw fans went to other teams and we're in a rebuilding season:

Right, when this was first news I thought, just don't go there, as it's yet another public résumé / look, Spurs, I'm really walking towards that door, ok?! And I thought, ****, just **** go already. It's been a weird ride with all the interviews done about her coaching ability. Never seen anything like it from any assistant coaches, even with her being the first female assistant coach in the NBA. That's not a shut up and coach thing, it just got distasteful how the Spurs kept being put on notice, especially after her interview with persona non grata Jabari Young - this will never not be a weird choice, and a turning point.

And here we are:

At least she parlayed that into the highest WNBA deal. But yeah, Spurs aren't going to cave into a media campaign. She did what was best for her when it's been made clear Spurs will do what's best for the franchise long-term.
