You are doing god's work, friend.
It is with great sadness and distress I've discovered the tWo is being destroyed by the positive work of the coaching staff and players!

We will be in the lottery again. Given the choice between a low playoff seed and tanking, I’m confident we’ll tank again. This is another transition year.

Tbh i am torn atm...I wanna see our team do well cause i want to see what our superstar Barnes can do in the playoff atmosphere but i also think the smart thing to hope for is another bad year and we get another top pick with Masai being the smartest drafting GM in the league......
Thinking of pairing Barnes with another Stud top pick for many years to come is exciting.

He looks like a mix between Michael Porter Jr and Blake Griffin.

I wouldn't mind drafting Houstan, Mathurin,AJ Griffin or Nikola Jovic late lottery if they just miss the playoffs.
Spurs took Primo at #12. Jalen Johnson went #20. Usman Garuba #23.

I just dont see how were bad enough to get a top 3 pick this year, especially with how well Barnes has been. We're just too deep and well coached.

Exactly, with Siakam coming back the Raptors are probably a 4-6 seed. Even then would they really fear any team in the east right now? Miami, Washington, Knicks, Bulls and Hornets are the top 5 right now.

Barnes can wait until 2023 playoffs.
The advantage of having a top lottery running mate for 8 years of team control >>> advantage of Barnes getting experience in 2022 playoffs

Right now we still projected to be in the lottery. Win totals have us with the 8th worst record right now and the thus the 8th pick before the lottery. That's with a worse record than the Timberwolves, Kings and Pacers. And I'm not convinced we will have a worse record than them. I think we are going to be right around the 10-11th pick. I wouldn't be surprised if we make the play-in, in fact I think we do, but I don't think we would make it out of that. Which to me is a great outcome. This is a deep draft upcoming so Masai can do a lot damage with a top 10-11 pick. This tank strategy just doesn't seem realistic. We won't get proper value for an in season trade and healthy players are not just going to sit. And Barnes, Siakam, OG, FVV core will not be terrible. The pre Kawhi core consistent of 2 lotto picks and Lowry. I'm not sure what his future holds but either way FVV as the number 4 is better than Ibaka. JV was underrated as a Raptor but I think OG is better and still has a lot of room to grow. Siakam and DeRozan are pretty comparable. And I think Barnes has the highest potential of all players. Plus you still got Gary and Precious who can improve over the next few years. So there is big potential there even without trades and without another top pick. But with the assets I think Masai will pull off a big trade that will trigger some people, like it did with Kawhi but it will be for the greater purpose. If you strike gold on top of that with a top 10-11 pick, this team will be stacked in 2-3 years. Neither of your outcomes is really a bad thing because either you are doing something you shouldn't do, go to the playoffs with a very young team and show you have tremendous potential or have another shot at a great talent to improve the core. If Masai gets a fringe Allstar or better out of a 2022 lotto pick, this era will far surpass the #WetheNorth era.

Re: Tank World Order 3.0
Any chance we can bench all the young players that are doing well so we can really succeed in the lottery? Seems like the best option for us. Maybe just switch out all the 905 players and send all our regular players to the 905. Winning basketball games is just such a disaster for this franchise.

Even if I got my fantasy offseason wish this year; trading Siakam and Fred for the Mobley pick, and giving us a lineup of:
Mobley
Barnes
OG
Trent
Dragic
I'm not sure that lineup ends up in the top 5. Maybe a bubble team even? I'd still want that extra top prospect to give us better odds long term.
But, I couldn't complain in the end because it means that we absolutely hit on two guys who were expected to be long term projects. That's the type of stuff you can root for because you've achieved at least some of your ceiling goals.
I will continue to blame Nurse for Thibsing the lineups because that is objectively bad and completely avoidable, though.

Actually no you don't have to necessarily "win the lottery"...
It's simply about IMPROVING ODDS...it's just mathematical & logical FACT that the higher you are in the draft, the better your chances -- because the undeniable fact that they're simply MORE players available to choose from.
Obviously each time a player is drafted, what's available is just less and majority of top players from their draft go in the lottery, that's just a fact. So I want this team to have a better opportunity to do so because we have something in Scottie. I mean we didn't technically "win" this lottery, DET did and we still ended up possibly as well, if not better.
But even if you set different goal posts for what's "winning" the lottery and move it top 4...there's still almost without fail a special or great player that falls through the lottery but not out. Doesn't matter if you're talking about Kawhi, Giannis...Klay, Booker, Mitchell, MP Jr, Herro, SGA, Bam, Haliburton etc etc...if there's ever a scouting department to spot one of those, it's ours. Just want to give them one more shot to nab a talent like that. It doesn't ensure but it just improves the odds, I like ours of spotting a player like any of those...
No it isn't! Picks 6-13 or 15 or whatever in a draft are too similar. You have to win with ping pong balls because we aren't finishing 1-5 worst. Last year. Or again. I said it last time and will say it this time. So... just no.
So **** your moving goal posts accusation, its luck. Scottie Barnes was pure luck for us because we won the lottery. And if it was left to those in this thread it would have been a waste and Suggs. And if you want Kawhi, then you better just make the lottery period and draft superior, and trade into it simply like the SAS DID DO, but it isn't tanking that does that.
And why are you not on the griz forum still. Thought you stopped being a raps fan.
You kept saying last year that a top-4 pick wasn't going to happen. Then it happened.
It's almost as if 32% odds to move into the top-4 are pretty good odds... Tanking got us those odds.
You're shifting goal posts so you don't have to admit you were wrong. It doesn't matter who this forum wanted to draft, we aren't the GM. And no **** good scouting gets you star players, but good scouting with a high pick exponentially raises your chances of success. Scottie Barnes was taken 4th overall, not 15th overall.

I think his point is that tanking doesn't work when you have an average front office like Orlando, but tanking works when you have Masai

Good thing we got lucky and won the lottery then. Or was getting lucky always the idea too.

Did it now. Prove to me we didn't win with same ping pong balls if we finished 10th worst or whatever and tanking actually mattered and we didn't win with the first 15% we had if we fnished 11th last or whatever.
Oh... it surely matters. It surely matters who this fourm wanted to draft alright, if it matters which ping pong balls won and tanking is solely the only viable idea so much. I mean if this circle jerk of a thread is going to stay open, lets talk about who was really right then shall we?
