Bembry is the most athletic player on the team.

The last time we had a wing player with some actual lift on this team was back when we had Carter and Jefferson at the wings.

Great win! And I say that not just because we blew them out, but because I think this is a game that last season we would have either come down to the wire on or maybe lost. The new additions this year help us cruise in games like this. The dogs/defenders/hustle guys we have help keep bad teams at a bad level when stars sit or struggle...

1) We played a stretch with Carter/Bembry/Brown/Johnson next to harden. We went on a 9-2 run. Bembry and carter were deflecting everything with multiple steals. We had 1 or 2 of those guys on the court alot. it helped us build a big lead as we forced them into bad shots and hounded grant.

2) LMA destroyed their zone. I'm not the biggest LMA fan, but its nice having a dude who is automatic from 18 feet when teams go 2-3 zone and he can catch at the FT line and just take that open shot. He has provided more value then i expected. I dont love him vs teams like the bucks or miami but he has his place vs alot of teams.

3) Harden slowly getting it back. And still consistently beating his man. dont mind his turnover number being high but the types of turnovers he has right now are really avoidable. When his three is falling he cant be stopped, even if the refs dont call obvious fouls on him. super efficient triple double with like 500 swagger points. In a month he will be back to MVP harden

4) Every player in the league is DM'ing KD thanking him for elbowing Olynick in the throat. that dude is a snake. im not sure what happened but im sure he deserved it. Love KD showing some spunk. im sure knowing james johnson and bembry and LMA have his back helps a bit.

5) I thought nash did a decent job tonight, but frustrated he didnt challenge a few obvious calls. I just dont get it. i know there are different philosiphes but challenge this seems to be a no brainer for everyone but us:
-Obvious charge/block was called incorrectly
-Foul assessed to your starter
-FTs for the opposing team

I mean you take points off the board + gain a possession which is the best case for any challenge and swap a foul from your starter to theirs. Nets need to delegate this to an assistant.

6) You see the glimpses of last years offense when good/elite shooters start hitting wide open threes. Blake isnt great but he isnt 1-15 bad. Carter isnt great but he isnt 14% from three bad. Joe we know is as good as it gets from deep. Harden is hot and cold but he is always near 40%.

shooters ALWAYS trend back towards the mean. We are do a red hot streak from several guys. its going to get scary!

Any big who doesnt see court time needs to be shooting 1000+ threes a day. He seems like a good kid. Hard worker. a bigger perry. but like perry, hit threes or your not gonna make it in BK. i have hopes for him long term. he already has size and will likely get bigger sitll

I've done absolutely zero research but say with full authority, it's all Kyrie's fault.

KD was kinda surly in the Pacers game too. I wonder what's up.

Everyone talks about Harden but KD has been getting hacked to death with no calls himself. He has been barking at the officials all game and he has also been whistled for a bunch of fouls. i think like harden, he is fed up with it...

The chucking the ball into the stands was on a foul call. the olynk thing probably came from a cheap shot that went uncalled earlier.

The one thing the nets do that separated them from other great teams/big threes is that they hit the midrange and an ungodly rate. Durant and Kyrie are the best mid range shooters in the game. and certainly the best of their era along with Kobe. Harden is great there but takes a bit less attemps. LMA is elite there.

Modern defenses by principal want to force/will live with those shots. the nets break teams whent hey hit the midrange at 55-60% and it breaks the analytics models. I dont love LMA shooting midrange when its man defense and its early in the clock. but vs zone or after some passes its demoralizing.

you can see defenders when KD/LMA hit those and they are like damn, these guys dont miss.

Ugh, I’m missing all these good stretches of basketball due to work.

Very glad to see Harden rounding into form. The biggest key for this group without Kyrie is what we get from Griffin/Aldridge/Millsap.

If LaMarcus continues to average 14/6 a night, that would be HUGE.

Its clear to me now that Harden is getting back into shape. Its not just about his conditioning. That hamstring injury was serious.

He couldn't move in that Bucks series. And he probably made it worse by playing.

He seems to slowly be getting better though. I'm pretty confident he will be back to normal by the end of this year.

There was some extracurricular stuff that went down between KD and Olynyk before KD threw the elbow. I don't mind it today but he's gotta chill on Wednesday, we need him versus the Hawks.

LMA is putting up some solid numbers, he looks a lot better now than he did last year. That jumper in the midrange is crisp. And he's getting blocks.

He said after the hornets game is "confidence (in the hamdsrting)". so i think some of it is mental too. but he seems to be getting right

it probably didnt help playing 3 elite defenses in the first 4 games.

with the right matchups, he is awesome to have...

vs. the teams with guys like Sabonis, that big the pistons have, or traditional bigs, he is awesome. at times he holds his own vs the modern bigs, other times not so much. he hurt us the first few games not getting out to shooters on the edge. but thats not always going to be an issue, especially vs the teams in the 10-25 rank area.
