It's mostly about joy to me. I'm don't care much about wins and losses and when our 4th pick who I'm excited about is not playing, there isn't much intrigue to me. We are likely to lose anyway, so it doesn't change much. Even though FVV and OG are good players, they don't give me joy. If this triggers someone and makes me a casual, so be it.

With Pascal, we could have easily been 6-1 right now! easily.

Bulls are 5-1
..some so-called fans can keep wishing that we lose games: So some of y'all want Scottie to be on a losing team and do stats.
We need to see Scottie in the playoffs ASAP. FVV and Pascal experienced playoffs from year 1.

I love how fans of Scottie Barnes are being labelled 'fake fans' and 'casuals'. If you aren't hopelessly optimistic, you're now a casual, you can no longer be a realist.

With that said I hope we beat the Knicks regardless

You don't have to be hopelessly optimistic to watch a basketball game of your favourite team. It's the fact that numerous people are saying "no Barnes, no watch" because there is "nothing else to get excited about" as if 75% of the players in our rotation aren't <25 years of age.

Also, as great as Scottie has been, his impact stats have been rather underwhelming. Our defence has actually been significantly better with him on the bench (6.2 points) and he has the 2nd worst NetRTG among regular rotation players. We're not getting carried to wins by Scottie and, while our chances go down assuming he's out tonight, the Knicks aren't some juggernaut team and their unsustainable three-point shooting (38% or better in all but one game while averaging 17 3FGM on 40%) is bound to revert to the mean eventually.

Who cares? Watch the game because you enjoy it, for the reasons you enjoy it.

If people want to watch their favourite players, if that's what brings them happiness, who is anyone to say otherwise?

....Scottie's impact has been underwhelming. That's the best thing I've read all day. Scottie is better than everyone behind him in the rotation, so yah, we're a worse team when he's out. Regardless of what your numbers say.

I don't care, but why do some feel the need to trash our team and say "blowout L" because Scottie is out? I also don't feel like reading all of these "not watching" posts because one player (albeit the most exciting one on the team) is doubtful to play when I know most of them will actually end up watching the game because they ARE fans or, even worse, not watch the game then make assumptions from the box score if we lose.

I didn't say Scottie's impact has been underwhelming. He has been either our best or 2nd best player via the eye test. What I did say was that his impact stats tell a different story and we have actually been better with Scottie on the bench. They aren't "my" numbers I'm pulling out of my ass. They're readily available to anyone on virtually every NBA stat-tracking website. I'm not making things up.

Regular season wise, if the Knicks are anything like the Lowry/Derozan Raptors they should take care of business without Barnes in the lineup.

A starting 5 of FVV|GTj|OG|Boucher|Precious offers better 3pt shooting than our current starting 5.
With Barnes out, I would not be against going Boucher&Birch with Precious coming off the bench.
