They don't play similarly. Barnes plays with his head up, looking to pass. Siakam is a downhill "scorer" with occasional playmaking.

Barnes with a jumpshot could play PG. You could even put him in PnR with Siakam.

I’m down for Jalen Smith. He looked good in summer league and even in the preseason he was solid. Suns just haven’t given him a real shot cause they have Ayton (still don’t understand why they even picked Jalen in this first place)

If we can trade Boucher and Dragic for picks/young assets and open a roster spot, I’d love to give him a shot

I know it is early for the draft, but if we are going to be late lottery or worse, I think we need to keep an eye on Nikola Jovic. He is a high skill player that reminds me a lot of Gallo or Drazen Petrovic. He is 6'10 and a point forward type that is so skilled.

Read on Twitter

Not sure where he lands in the draft exactly, but he is too skilled to pass-up.

the problem is that if you acquire jalen smith, and he breaks out, the raptors cannot offer him more than the declined option salary, apx 4 million.
lose lose proposition, he's bad or he turns out to be good, cant resign him.

So to acquire him, you can't really let him play and do better or else some other team can exceed $4M? What a crappy system.

its to prevent teams/agents from exploiting system, agents forcing teams to decline 3rd year options and giving them more then the option year salary.

Toronto trades: Goran Dragic + Chris Boucher + Malachi Flynn

Memphis trades: Dillon Brooks + Brandon Clarke + Tyus Jones

Banes has essentially overtaken the SG spot and Clarke has fallen out of favour. Dragic and Boucher can provide some spacing and toughness for their run this year but also will be 28M in expiring which would allow them to sign a high level player prior to Morants extension kicking in.

We get our scoring backup 2 we desperately need who conveniently expires summer 2023 which is right on our timeline. Clarke is another athletic big we can develop for cheap and Tyus can be our 3rd PG who expires this summer.

FVV - Banton - Tyus
Trent - Brooks
OG - Svi
Barnes - Precious - Yuta
Siakam - Birch - Clarke

Would anyone be up for trading Boucher for Marvin Bagley? Hopefully put him in our development system and turn him into a productive C?

PSA: Raptors are the hottest team in the NBA right now. they are in sole possession of the longest winning streak currently in the NBA.

yeah i think id be okay with this with a 2nd or two added.Boucher doesnt fit long term and while Bagley is most likely the next Jahlil Okafor theres like a 2% chance he can become a Randle.

Why? For what? Blocks? That's it?

Barnes is literally producing more in every stat as well as intangible than Turner. We don't need blocks.

Turner is nice but a weak rebounder, weak 3 point shooter, his career scoring is literally what Birch did last year.

MT: 12.6 pts - 6.5 rebs - 3.4 blks - 1 stl - 1 ast = 31MPG

KB: 11.9 pts - 7.6 rebs - 1.2 blks - 0.8 stl - 1,9 ast = 30.MPG

Defensive anchor on a terrible defensive team. **** that. I'd rather have Trent out there and play Birch who makes 3x less and cn contribute just as much.

I'm boarderline out on Precious, at least at his current role/age. He pretty selfish and doesn't exactly provide what I like from out bigs personally.

You're out on a free 1st round prospect that is specially coveted by Masai?

Have you not been a fan long enough to have learned that development tales time?

Tell me, what is it "you like" from your bigs?

The problem isn't with Precious. It's with you being incapable of having reasonable or logical expectations for young players wanting immediate results.

Well I'm out on his current role. I like weak side help defense, positional defense, passing and generally high IQ. They don't have to have all of thee above, but Precious has none of thee above yet. I'd feel different if he was coming off the bench, but not starting.

It has nothing to do with "intimidate results". I don't see him developing most or any of those things. I can see him becoming decent from 3 and a good rebounder. His ball handling is good for his position and size as well. I never said " Oh lets trade precious". I said I'm boarderline out on his current role/age meaning he's not ready yet for what he'll be asked.

I even think Nurse is on the same page. Precious minutes have been on the decline and Birch has been the main beneficiary the last two games. I'm aware the rotations are fluid and change depending on matchup, but the eye test says Khem has been better for what we need/ he's being asked.

And look at what Sabonis did to Poeltl last night. Jak is a damn good defensive big. But the Raps totally controlled Sabonis last week.

I keep thinking the Raps need a legit big, but they keep proving me wrong. Maybe there's something to this positionless 6' 9" concept.

not too much to complain abt so far. If I were to look at anything?

1. Dragic huge disappointment
2. boucher in a contract year has been underwelming
3. Precious hasn't been who he was in Pre season

heres the thing, im not sure the raptors believed internally they would be this good this early. so its really a development vs winning thing with precious. hes clearly the rawest of the young guys but bigs take longer to adjust typically, so it seems like nurse is trying to get him his development minutes but he isnt trustworthy yet when we are in crunch time trying to get wins. it might be most beneficial to get him 905 time but we are really weak at that position already, especially with boucher playing like azz. tough call tbh. but that being said i still think he ends up really good, but you cant develop him here with big minutes and win constistantly atm.
