Ant touched on it in that Pelicans game but we're still, and have been for years, too quick to take our foot off the throat. We are nowhere near good enough to coast. And then when we get punched back we shrink.

The way I see it, career numbers are good bench marks. Guys can have up and down years, but usually career numbers are a fairly reasonable bench mark for a player. Now before I continue I do want to address the obvious by saying yes older players tend to decline and younger players tend of rise so career numbers are not bulletproof. That said they are a good way to track growth or decline acting as a baseline. Most of our players are playing well below their career stats. Our shooting is awful, our rebounding is unacceptable, and free throws are starting to become an issue as well. Some of this mental, some of this is start of the season conditioning issues, but some of this is an X factor that I just cannot identify. My theory is the guys are spending so much energy on defense they are lacking wind on offense. Also teams are collapsing and forcing us to hit 3s. Whatever the case may be, we need to get back to baseline sooner rather than later.

Unacceptable loss this team is full of gutless pigs who are injury prone.

This team ain't it. They are a collection of:

-Wanna-be 3 point shooters
-Low IQ
-No fundamentals (no one can make a simple entry pass to KAT in the post or any pass actually)
-No heart, especially when the going gets tough
-Aside from Ant, not really that talented...

Then you add in Finch, who's been just as disappointing. What the hell is up with his offense, or lack thereof? Is his offense really just DLo/Ant bring the ball up, pass to KAT in the high post, run to the corner, KAT gives ball back, someone takes a difficult 3? It is really really REALLY REEEEEEEEEEEEAALLYYYYYY bad. In the history of the MN Timberwolves, I haven't seen an offense of ineptitudeness this level. Not even during the Michael Beasley/Al Jefferson days was the offense this bad. Super surprising because Finch has a reputation of being a genius X's and O's. Hell, Nick Nurse is have said to steal some of Finch's set from his playbook because they were that good. A championship and one of the best HC in the league- did that. And now what the hell is Finch doing? Are our players just that dumb that he can't run any good plays?

Well it is what it is- this team is full of really bad players. Gupta has his work cut out for him trying to make something out of nothing.

Look at the positives.

Now that D‘Lo is injured a little you can blame injuries again for the team not showing up.

But watch out for 2022-23 when they are all healthy! They will be a top team.

Ant should just stop chucking 3s and should just attack the rim at all times

Some people have real problems, I start to think that Foye is one of them.

I think we'll look better as soon as Beverley is ready to start, JMac is too much of a liability defensively. I'm actually really looking forward to seeing what our starting unit can do without DLo, if it's Beverley who's starting instead of him, not JMac. JMac is a poor man's Tyus Jones, and we all know that's not good.

THIS TEAM IS NOT THAT GOOD!

Despite DLos early struggles, he was sorely missed in the 2nd half as our offense was a disaster and at least he is better defensively than little mac

This team might not looking good in some games, but I believe that fans suppose to support their teams, and not $h1t on players and organisation after every problem, like Foye does. That is not like grown men act, that is why I start to believe that he has problems.

I believe is too many years of experience, of the same mistakes. It's not like he didn't say to begin that this team wasn't good enough.
Grown men don't live in a fantasy world all the time.

And some people live in a fantasy world to think this team is good enough to do anything with this core. It's not.
It's a team that lives and dies by flashes of good shooting nights, period.

_AIJ_ wrote:How do you fix this offense?!?!?!

1. The offense itself is fine. We get a lot of open looks, we get points in the paint, and we get (though not as much as I would like,) second chance points.

2. We need our shooters to come to the party. Beasley going 4-16 with 3 of 12 from 3 is not winning anything. We also need to be okay telling the truth about Ant. 22 shots for 24 points is not that good. 2 of 8 from 3 after going 0-6 from 3 and shooting somewhere around 28/29% from 3 on the season tells the story.

3. We are shooting too many 3s and trying to shoot through the slump. We need to get KAT more engaged, we need to run off ball action to get Ant going downhill. We need Vando and JO to do a better job getting to the basket and finishing. We also need to replace Prince with Bolmaro and move MCD to backup PF.

4. We need to get our guys heads on straight. They need to stay calm and play the full 48. Waiting for the second quarter to end was like waiting to inhale after being suffocated. We cannot ever coast and we cannot ever take several minutes off.

We do not get a lot of open looks.

This is primarily because pretty much the ONLY player who can get to the rim is Ant.

DLo, Beas, Beverly, Prince, McDaniels... none of those guys are a threat off the dribble.
