KAT - I feel Wolves will have a good season
Beal - Wizards is leading the standings
Lillard I feel Portland will have a good season with a healthy roster
SGA OKC would be crazy to let him go. They don't need more picks but high potential young players like SGA
Sexton He might be expandable with Garland/Rubio and Cavs would rather sign and trade him than give him a 100M contract. But his price tag could be higher than just a late pick + washed IQ
Ayton Its very unlikely for the Suns just sign and trade him or refuse to match any offer sheet
Booker I think the Suns are bored with regular season because they know they are a playoff team
Paul - I think the Suns are bored with regular season because they know they are a playoff team
Someone else we are not thinking of?

With the play-in tournament, I think it's highly unlikely that a playoff contender team gives up by mid-season.

I can see Spurs and Indiana blowing up... But they don't have real superstars. Although Brogdon, Turner or D.Murray can be good options.

As far as hopes for Knicks

SGA and Mitchell are the choices for where Knicks will throw all there assets at.

Booker is the one that I’m curious to see what goes on in Phoenix. Some people I’ve talked to believe that if the ayton situation goes badly then Dont think Booker just re ups in 2 years

Would OKC really be interested in a package of our young players for SGA? I find it highly unlikely that they're looking for any vets.

Mitchell being made available kind of blows my mind.

So as far as what I can say. SGA signed that extension but has made it known if they aren’t looking to win he wants to be dealt.
Mitchell no matter what is said about him wanting to win in Utah will be out of there eventually and I would not believe for one second that him and gobert are close and not mad at each other

Ben Simmons can not force a trade. He is 25 years old. He has star power as an all-star and all-defensive team. His contract ends sooner in 2025. He has a squabble with the roster and the coaching staff. His "strike" keeps the team to be a real contender.

SGA does not have any leverage to force a trade. He has much less leverage than Ben Simmons. He never got any award. He is 23 years old, too distant from his prime. His contract ends in 2027. OKC is tanking and doesn't care about his actions. What he will gonna do? Getting fat and missing games? OKC does not care.

KAT

Ayton
Booker

I just can't think of most of these guys as "superstars". Do u think Minn thinks KAT (all star and #1 pick), Edwards (#1 pick) and D LO (all star and former rookie of the year) are even in the upper balcony of an arena range with Lebron, Wade and the ex-Toronto guy?

There seem very few in the league right now.

Lebron still probably though not prime Lebron
Not Harden since the rules changed.
Durant -- yes
Butler -- very good but not "superstar"
Paul not prime Paul anymore
George not prime P George anymore
Kyrie -- fell off the flat earth
Aldridge and Griffin washed up on Net's beach
Lilard, KAT, Levine, Beal never won anything or close to it.
Ayton and SGA - maybe in a few years
Booker - good argument he's there now.
Doncic - yes
Curry - yes
Giannis - yes
Embid - perhaps but shaky health
Fat Zion - maybe with diet and health resolved
Mitchel - strikes me as Booker lite, but on his good days, perhaps

So - that's 5 definite and maybe another 3 or 4. Out of 32 teams. You could make an argument Randle's last season (regular, not playoffs) was better than most of the others.

We might do better bundling picks and talent (even Obi, IQ and ?) for a #1 to #3 pick and hope to FIND one rather than buy one since the best, Giannis, Curry, Durant, Doncic, Lebron, Booker seem locked in until they're in their 30s.

Trade for a backup wing with size that is a decent two way player.

It just takes one guy to pry loose and we could try and pounce. We have so many future draft picks and young players that have some value that are ready or close to ready to play. Our offer unless the team wants a high proced star like Simmons or Kyrie should be right there with any team.

It would be amazing if we could get Fat Zion here. He could solve so many problems for us. For example, he could eat IQ, thus saving us from more of his unbearable inefficient chucking.

Get it done, Leon.

I am mocking Cam Reddish as the next Harrison Barnes and if we could trade for that with picks to back up RJ and Randle and the third forward on the team it would be a really good look.

If Lavert is healthy, I would give up
Randle, Quickley, Burks and picks
for Lavert and Myles Turner.

Mitch/Noel/Taj/Sims
Turner/Obi
RJ/Fournier
Lavert/Grimes
Kemba/Rose/Deuce

Lavert is a beast, Turner and Mitch would be a huge upgrade defensively.

Lavert is never healthy and his health scares go beyond even sports.

People need to relax on trading Randle. We're talking about a player who - on a bad day - gets nearly a triple double without needing to force things. Toronto was an upsetting and avoidable loss, but we are getting ahead of ourselves. Toronto is actually a tough team and we are going to still cough up a few bad losses this year. If we can get to 55 wins - which I think it doable - we'll have beat the odds by more than 10 games. I am not against trading any single player, but it has to make sense. Lavert and Turner for Randle, Quickly and picks does not. Now I would definitely throw picks and anyone not named Randle or RJ for Ingram (and maybe for Simmons). I would still love Brogdon here too. I think we are starting to see that we cannot play all our young guys. McBride, Grimes and even Simms and Roku all deserve some minutes, but probably won't get some soon. We should consider consolidating. A couple of potential targets: Jerian Grant, Christian Wood, Ingram, Simmons. Only players who might start or be a 6th man of the year. Would love to see a Mitch, Randle, Grant, RJ, Walker lineup. Would be reminiscent of Mase at SF.

people are overlooking our sickly backcourt - with a washed kemba, a lite-d and downhill fournier and rose not near last year's form, to say nothing of the Knoxification of IQ from a microwave scorer to frank 2 we're going to have trouble even sniffing the play-in.

I know I have beaten this drum before, but Jerami Grant fits our defense, provides offense, can play either forward spot, and fits our timeline (contract runs up at the end of next year). He is not on the Detroit timeline. I wonder if Detroit would do Grant for Toppin, Burke and Knox. Maybe we add the lesser first in a year where we have 2 firsts.

Mitch/Noel
Randle/Grant/FA PF
Grant/RJ
RJ/Fournier/IQ
Walker/Rose/McBride

I think Grant makes us better on both sides of the court.

What about Jerami Grant? Best player on the worst team in the league...only has 1 YR on his contract...does he fit or help the Knicks?

Right a move like that would trend us back to being a defensive hustle team while still maintaining our improved offense.

What kind of package nets us grant? I like him, but that lineup would still need its version of a Kawhi/Butler trade to take that final step...so could we get Grant while keeping enough ammo to eventually turn one of Grant/Julius/RJ +++ into a title winning #1?
