Re: Official Scottie Barnes Thread
I just really hope he doesn’t miss Fridays game. That’s his chance to separate himself from Mobley in the ROY race

Would be nice.
Couple thumb sprain injuries in the NBA.
LaVine played through it, Zion missed a week, AD missed 10 days, Russell missed 3 weeks, Jaylen Brown missed just 2 games, Lonzo Ball no time missed, Mirotic 3 weeks, Tristan Thompson 1 week, Klay Thompson 3 weeks missed, Kyle Lowry 1 week.
Not a long term thing but 10 days seems reasonable.
Although I guess there is some hope,

If it's coming from Grange then it holds zero credibility.

I agree, I think he sits out Wiz, Cavs and Nets and comes back next week for Celtics.
But not sure why Grange would make it up.

Re: Official Scottie Barnes Thread
Don’t really believe anything coming from Grange but realistically looking at that list of similar injuries, I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s true
That video of him shooting around without that brace on his hand was encouraging. Doubt he’d be shooting around if it were something that would take more than a week

Is there any player in the league you would trade Scottie for?
I couldn't think of one except for OG.

I think one of Cade’s biggest issues is he is not as big as he was projected. People thought he was originally 6’8 but I believe he is closer to 6’6. That and he wasn’t exactly super athletic. His career is still very young and his bball iq will make him a productive player, but Im not sure he will meet his hype.

I'd love to see where Masai had Cade on his board.

To be fair, Dwayne Casey is an outdated horrible coach. The Pistons need to can him ASAP if Cade is to have any hope of developing into the player he should become.

casey said they tweaked cades shot in the offseason.he's currently 0/14 from 3 this season. he was a 40% shooter from 3 and those dummies decided to mess with his form.

He just got back from injury. I'll give him some time before I write him off.

Re: Official Scottie Barnes Thread
too early to call him a bust, he's been injured for the past month or so....but during pre-season as well, he was looking average; I'm betting that he isn't 100% & pistons management forced him to return earlier than usual after seeing the 3 players drafted after him performing well...clearly, he isn't in game shape; I was watching the inside the NBA segment - Kenny makes a great point in the video link below (they're referring to zion in the segment but it applies to all players) you get in shape to play basketball not the other way around
Oakley:
"What's going on the league today? It ain't nothing hard, they don't practice any more, they just go around the court doing nothing."

Would be interesting to see who was guarding him. Jrue, Middleton and Giannis are all very good to elite defenders.

You saw the game and Hill is the one who drew the assignment?

Jrue and Middleton are out along with Lopez and Divincenzo. It’s basically Giannis + their bench right now.

Hill's still a savvy defender if not a good one. Still, he shouldn't be good enough to shut down the first pick of a very good draft, if said first pick is as good as Cade was hyped to be. It's still really early obviously, but I just don't know what to make of Cade right now.
