GT #8: Bullets vs TOR Wed 11/3 7:00 PM

Post#1 » by nate33 » Wed Nov 3, 2021 3:20 pm

The Raptors have won 4 in a row after a 1-3 start. But their only win of the season against an above-.500 team was against the Knicks on Monday when OG Anunoby went off for 36. The Raptors have great defensive personnel (7th best defense), but have to scheme together offense without a number 1 option. They've gotten the job done so far, having the 13th best offensive in the league.

Scottie Barnes and Pascal Siakam are out for the Raptors.

Bertans, Hachimura, Bryant, Winston and Gill are out for the Wizards. Bertans apparently has a sprained ankle.

With the 75th anniversary city remix jerseys featuring, the Raptors should play the role of homecoming patsy rather well today.

The Wiz need to go back to strong defensive fundamentals and I am hoping we see more ball movement offensively, particularly from Beal and Dinwiddie. In particular, KCP and Deni need more shots! It is also a good opportunity for Kispert to see more minutes given Bertans absence.

Wizards and Raptors have similar resumes. Each have beaten the Pacers and Celtics(although I believe the Raptors played the Celtics without Jaylen Brown) . Of course the Wizards have already beaten Toronto on the road but other than that, the only quality win may be against the Hawks.

Hopefully the Wizards can maintain the edge over Toronto- it's been some time since the Wizards have beaten the Raptors twice in a row in the regular season. 2013 appears to be the last instance. Of course the Wizards did sweep the Raptors in 2015- only Beal remains from those 2 teams after Lowry departed via free agency.

Not an easy game. They are for real on defense and are clearly better than they played on offense the first time these two team met. No Scottie Barnes and at DC will help us out.

Still got to get Beal right. He’s looked solid in both games vs Hawks but still not up to his best. I’m not holding my breath that he gets it going vs the long raptors but sooner or later he’s got to reach his typical all star level (right?????).

LSBF-stradomus says this is a win.

We’ll suffer a bit, but will pull it out

A lot of possession where we are doing a lot of dribbling at the top arch before we get are able to get anything going.

Beautiful offensive rebound and kickout to Beal for three.

Beal needs to play defense.

Kispert has real active hands on defense, almost got another steal there before the Birch dunk.

Kuzma nice start. We always get on Deni for going up soft. He's 6-10 with length. Got to dunk some of those.

I'm all for letting them play out there, and not calling ticky-tack foul, but call it both ways.

Kispert is a really good player. I’m liking the rotation so far.

Kuzma is flat out terrible and should not play meaningful minutes

Maybe Beal got the memo about his chucking, only 3 shots so far.

Unfortunately those missed shot are now coming.from kuzma.

Deni’s FT shooting is frustrating

Deni has been great on defense just leaving way to many points on the board with these missed layups.

Getting dominated on the glass it feels like. Avdija is playing great but can’t make the ball go in the hoop.
