i am considering the circumstances. letting kyrie go for nothing > KCP/bertans. if we are going to move Kyrie for less the superstar value we need to do it as a salary dump so we lower the tax and can keep Harden/KD for 4 years (as of now, we could go maybe 2)
I just can't see the Nets letting Kyrie go for nothing. I also think there is room on this roster for more shooting and perimeter defense. Bertans would be a Shamet replacement, and KCP would be a perimeter defender that can also shoot, unlike Brown or Bembry. You also need more offense from Harris without Kyrie, so KCP can start games and take the best opposing perimeter player instead of him and you don't need to give guys that can't shoot too many minutes.
You can never have enough shooting in today's NBA. You lose a lot without Kyrie because he is also an elite shooter among many other things. Nets need more shooting if he doesn't come back, especially against a team like Milwaukee that packs the paint. You have to make 3's.
The nets have massive long term fincancial issue. if they cant get a star for kyrie, they would seek trades for a salary dump, not to bring in more low level role guys
If you are all or nothing on winning the championship, then you have to spend as much as possible. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity. Good role players make the difference between winning and losing in the playoffs.
