I think they're built to be an excellent regular season team, like the 18-19 Bucks.

Giannis scoring and efficiency plummets against the heat and it’s been like that for a couple years, it’s consistent and significant enough to where I don’t want to play them in the playoffs lol. I don’t think they’re a better team overall but they weren’t a better team in 2020 either, I also think the bucks were as good or even better than 2019 raps.

The bucks are a bad offensive team in the playoffs and it’s their main weakness when playing against contenders. Whenever Giannis can’t score and can’t get to the basket, the team falls apart. We would need a great shooting series from everybody not named Giannis.

Miami looks good, but they're the ultimate try-hard team right now. Whatever works for them I guess, but I personally wouldn't be treating every game like it was the NBA Finals in October/November when I have as many old dudes on that roster as they do. Lowry's sat out one game (they put up an 85 team offensive rating and lost) but other than that, they've also been perfectly healthy. The injuries/load management are inevitable.

Not hating Chicago's success so far. They have some likable dudes on that team. If Fotis' #1 seed projection comes through, give him full mod authority for a day.

Like in the ECF?

Jrue is the key. Miami won't beat Jrue, Khris & Giannis. They wouldn't have blown them out this season with Jrue & Brook.

All I’m saying is that team is for real, and they have Giannis figured out at the moment. You basically have to pencil him in for low 20’s ppg on bad efficiency. Add in the fact that Khris is so up and down(more down against elite defense) and Jrue is sneaky a bad scoring option in the playoffs and you have a series that can go either way. Fully healthy I would still lean bucks but I wouldn’t want to play them in the playoffs.

That is true, they are disciplined enough to concentrate their D on Giannis.
But that comes with a cost, it's not a coincidence that Forbes torched them last year.

More importantly Miami is not the only team that can play defense. We have guards now. Which means we're free to do whatever we want with Jrue, put him on Herro full time and guess how that's gonna go for the young one. Rotate Giannis/Brook/Bobby on Bam and lets check his efficiency after. Focus the D on Jimmy to keep him honest and lets test how it looks when they have to force their extra scoring out of 36 year old Kyle and PJ now that Dragic is gone.

Miami is good, they've been good as far back as I remember under Spo. But they just don't have the star power to be legit contenders, they squeeked through to the Finals once and got hammered, then they got hammered again last year, and this year in all honesty they're just not that different. They have a lot of situational opportunistic scorers who look great on occasion, but when defenses get physical these guys will take any opportunity to disappear. And then for long stretches their only option is Jimmy, and Jimmy is a reliable scorer but he's a 20ppg kind of guy, not a 30+ppg guy who goes nuclear. Comes a point where he's just not enough.

IMO in the East the Nets are still the team to beat until further notice. Against MIA we just need health, that's why I'm so glad to see Jrue, Brook and Khris take time off early on.

The sample size is only like 50ish games but Durant's TS% on the Nets is an amazing 66.6%

Looks like the Timberwolves are going to lose another one at home. I knew the Wolves would do that, beat us in Milwaukee then take the next 2 weeks off lol. Classic Timberwolves.

This will actually be their 4th consecutive loss at home unless they come back here at the end.

Whilst I'm not sure he'd be the best match up for the Mavs bigs, and they seem to be doing okay anyway, it would have been reasonable for Landale to think Pop might thrown him some spot minutes early after a few solid junk time minutes in the last game and Poeltl being out.

Was hoping Orlando would continue their hot start against Boston. Cole Anthony got cold... 4-18.

Jokic, VanVleet, Doncic are all killing it.

I enjoy watching Luka play, and he makes guys around him better... but I have to wonder how popular a guy dominating the play enough to have 23 shots, 2 FTs, 7 assists, 4 turnovers in 33 minutes would be on a rec league team.

"Hey Doncic!"
"Yeah?"
"You know we all pay court fees, right?"

Really wish we would have signed GPII when we had the chance. A backcourt of him and Jrue would be vicious in spurts.

Suddenly wondering what's up with Kendall Marshall.
