This is the team I remember that let Tacko Fall clown them.
The Greatest of All Time debate in basketball is essentially who has the greatest basketball resume of the player who has the best highlights instead of who is the best player

When you have a bad and young team the valleys are long and sometimes seem endless.SOUL wrote:thelead wrote:This team wasn't prepared to play tonight
We've competed in three quarters, but the third one was insanely bad.
This is like those awful summer league games.

Do NBA refs get paid by the minute? They're making sure this game goes for 2 and a half hours.

I disagree. Boston looked disinterested in the first half which made us look 'competitive'. WCJ was ready from the jump though. Oh well... on to the next one.

Growing pains. The Magic came out flat after halftime and well, you can't do that. Coach Mosely will hold them accountable.

lol how is that our issue at all though? If a Boston team that jhad a team meeting looked "disinterested" it doesn't mean anything to our team.
We just had really bad play and didn't get into the paint, missed every shot.. defense was fine for the most part except that 3rd.

They have some chemistry and structural problems for sure. I would imagine some trades will be made. But still miles better than us but that team won't got too far.SOUL wrote:We won/tied three quarters and got DEMOLISHED in the 3rd.

Two teams came unprepared to play IMO. Not sure why that makes us look better.

Boston no injuries and with the luxury tax bill, they pay almost 40m more for the product they have on the floor. We have 60m worth of our players injured, so they had 100m more worth of players tonight.

I just think that statement makes sense if we showed that from the gate. Being bad in one quarter doesn't mean you're unprepared, it means you're bad for one quarter.
Granted, it was a disastrously bad quarter where we forgot how to play basketball completely but for a starting lineup that has held its own for most of the season even against good teams, I'll take it for what it was.

Bad games are bad but that's us right now. Development takes ages.
Wendell came out with a lot of effort today so it's nice to see his stats look the best. 13 and 13 is ok. Shame about some of the turnovers but he's learning too.
Okeke gets another game under his belt, the injured players are a day closer to returning and RJ is picking himself up off the floor after a rough start to the season. He was ok again.

Hampton looked better today. Franz missed easy shots. Cole and Suggs clearly felt defensive pressure from Smart/Horford/Williams.
One of those games where we miss Fultz a lot with his ability to drive.

Well, I guess we disagree on how they looked the first half though. They were in the game but I didn't like how they were playing regardless. We don't have the splash bros to be looking to shoot so many 3's (2-9 from 3 in the 1st and 4-13 from 3 in the 2nd). The offense was just bad in the first half and then it got worse in the 3rd when we went 1-12 from deep. I don't know, maybe the staff expects Cole and Franz to continue shooting 45+% from deep... Cole can't be shooting 11 3's a game if we expect to have a good offense.

I can't wait until the day that the Magic find their center piece again. They really can't do much until they find that again.

I was hopeful that Suggs was that guy but the more we see the less I believe he will be the center piece. He is going to be the solid starter that I was envisioning pre-draft. The sad thing is that I'm not seeing that type of player in this next draft either. It's still early though.

I want to give Suggs 3 more years before making a judgement but I agree with you he seems more like a solid role player rather than a star.
I do believe Chet will be a great player so hopefully we have shot at him in the draft.
