Neil's mistakes were funny because they came from a geriatric, curmudgeonly Mr. Magoo-esque descent into geezerism, while Amin's mistakes come from inexperience and therefore aren't funny.

Every Bulls rookie ever is the next [insert Bulls legend here]. I still can't get over the Hutch/Pip comparisons. About the only thing they have in common is their immature personality.

The Doc Brown impression was good, to be fair.

I guess hes hoping he'll get as lucky as he did with Jimmy G Buckets

That was such an awful nickname for Jimmy when he gave it to him.

Our booth is terrible. I watch the other team's broadcast whenever possible. Amin seems like a nice guy, but his fake laughter is very annoying.

Cmon guys the Bane impression is funny, Stacey is a funny guy in general he’s like a comedian. Nothing wrong with that makes games more entertaining for us. Amin though I agree it’s his second year here and not crazy about him. His play by play is ok but doesn’t seem like he knows much about basketball.

Still don’t know why they didn’t give the job to Chuck Swirsky, he’s great on radio but he’d be even better on tv knows basketball and you can tell he actually likes the bulls.

I remember few years ago this guy having and argument with some fan on Twitter and saiyng to this fan the car that he drives as a fact of his superiority over the fan. Since then I cant stand him as a person as well as broadcaster.

For what I've seen in this board he is, in general, well liked, and I respect that. But, for me, as long as he continues with the Bulls, I will always watched the other team broascast. It is a shame because I loved the Johnny Red Kerr era.

As for Amin I have nothing against the guy, but, as pointed out before in this thread, he seems to be a "Yes Sir" type of guy for Stacey.

Really? Some might be better but many of the other teams broadcasts are boring and nothing special to be honest. Stacey is the way to go most of the time.

Please stop acting like a clown with the help of Amin Stacey, you know the game and I like your analysis but since you started announcing games with Amin it seems like you feel pressed to say a lot more jokes than necessary especially when your team is losing and you should be trying to figure out why.

There are many broadcasters who ,give a joke when it is needed but not almost all the time.

Him and Amin are obviously trying to call the games stoned together and this is the result. Not saying Stacey wasn't blazed with Funk but Funk wasnt wise to it so Stacey was reined in by that. It's new for both of them in this regard so maybe they'll get past it soon.

Always liked Gorman a lot. It was Tommy’s insane homerism that was insufferable even as a fan who likes the Celtics being in New England.

Good Stacey
- Hotsauce
- Sriracha
- 5 Javontes
- Big Baller for Zo
- Various Caruso references

Indifferent
- Chi Slamma Jamma
- Professional scorer for Zach/DD

Bad Stacey
- Bane
- Golden pipes
- Like Zach - half the audience doesn’t know the reference, and though I’m a Zach fan, it feels a little sacrilegious.
- Ayo silver
- Doc Brown tonight...boy I hope that doesn’t become a thing...awful impression.

Anyone else notice Bane, Ayo silver and golden pipes were missing tonight?

The amount of pop humor definitely feels a little unprofessional at times.

Appreciated, but unprofessional.

OP has it spot on. Stacey has become unbearable and the pairing with Amin is not a good one. Stacey at his best is good but he’s been a bet negative for me so far this season. Enough so that my only two posts in the past couple years are complaints about him.

I personally feel like Amin is just too young and nice to pair with him. You need to sometimes put Stacey in his place, or atleast joust or make fun of him a bit, light banter, but right now it's like a free-for-all let Stacey be a goof without calling it out.

I'm not sure why Mark Schanowski didn't get the call. Maybe they really wanted to diversify and get younger. But he's been a great Chicago voice for decades, and he keeps it real- isn't scared to call someone out, also easy to get along with.

The female considered (was it Beth Mowins?) would've been refreshing as well. Although I didn't get the sense that Stacey felt all that comfortable with the female auditions.

I don't know. We're stuck with the duo for a long time, unless Amin gets a job promotion (uh - join the TNT crew?). Not sure they thought this one out very well, but it's also not the worst broadcasting tandem. Neil Funk had his moments and was a delightful voice, but obviously his confusions on TV were too much. I haven't decided whether I actually prefer Amin or not.

I really wanted Mark Schanowski as well. I think he was thought to be too critical of the Bulls organization for their taste (and rightly so) while he was at Comcast/NBC Sports. Schanowski has so many insights and stories about all Chicago sports and particularly basketball. The Bulls really dropped the ball on this due to pettiness.

Amin knows very little about basketball, he knows more about baseball and football and he should have stayed in those sports. I feel like the broadcasters who call multiple sports are typically the worst. Amin brings nothing other than a voice and stream of obviousness. He spouts off stats and the constant pandering to King is almost disgusting.

Pop humor is fine, and even welcome. If it’s used with good timing, and well-executed. With King it’s overdone, and too often a poor facsimile.

I mentioned in a game thread, but it’s directly on topic here. I’d love to see Noah in the role.

Even with Amin...its poorly placed and kind of forced.

Last night for example What Happened to Dat Boy played over the P.A. Amin, for some reason or another notes that that is the song playing and goes "I missed the Clipse". Fairly certain he was waiting for Stacey to play off of him on that one, but it didnt happen. And it wasnt needed.

The amount of Friday references earlier in the season. The Doc Brown thing was good but went on too long.

Like I said, it's not the pop culture references themselves, it is the frequency.

As someone who has no interest in watching any of those superhero movies, much less know anything about the characters, I had no idea wtf Stacey was doing when he busted out that Bane voice. I still wouldn't know what he was doing if it weren't for this board. Now, knowing the reference, I'm still not clear what place the bit had in the context of the game.

I like our booth, personally. Amin is so much looser doing basketball games compared to baseball....I like the basketball version much better. Listening to he and Stacey cut up during the game is more like watching the game with a couple of your boys rather than a traditional broadcast....I appreciate that. I like to think I know the game well enough that I don't need everything explained in great detail, just need some engaging background voices.
