I like Exum a lot but I think both sides should move on. I wish him success anywhere he goes, NBA or otherwise.

Pick and Roll Australia have learned that former Utah Jazz player and recent Houston Rocket is in talks to resume his stalled NBA career with the Jazz. Sources close to the player and team have indicated to Pick and Roll that discussions are under way and a deal is close to being done for the 26 year old. Reports are that the Jazz are high on the young Australian swing man after impressive displays at the Tokyo Olympics this summer and are keen to sign him to sure up their perimeter defence as they look to contended for an NBA title this season.

Exum's NBA career to this point has not lived up to early expectations, after being drafted 5th overall by the Jazz in the 2014 draft, Exum had gone on to average 5.7 points, 2.1 assists and 1.8 rebounds in an injury marred career.

If he comes back and finally puts it all together, well, that would be amazing.

Oh, wow! Conley will have to give up his number just months after switching to it.

The Jazz need an athletic 3D guard/wing. Royce can't defend quick guards. What it says to me is that the Jazz don't have confidence in Miye Oni or Elijah Hughes to play that role. It might also mean that Jared Butler isn't ready on the defensive side of the ball.

There are other guys available, like James Ennis, but the Jazz must like Exum's ability to fit into Quin's system. He'd be able to hit the ground running.

The Oni situation is strange. He's starting his third season now and still can't get on the floor. If he's a 3D prospect, shouldn't he be able to get some minutes solely on his defensive ability, even if only for special assignments? If he can't manage to get minutes based on his defensive ability, is he really a good enough defender?

I haven't seen any USA-based media run with the Exum rumuor. If he came back, he would have to sign for the minimum, no? Wonder if he could get more money playing overseas?

When you refer to Exum possibly re-joining the Jazz, please don't say "Hit the ground" He might be out 3-6 months after that

I think Exum would be on a minimum deal, or something pretty close to it. The Jazz could also waive Miye Oni and give Dante that salary slot. I think Exum probably wants more than the minimum, and that's why there would be some negotiation. Houston gave Dante a pretty detailed deal contingent on being healthy and playing a minimum number of minutes.

Exum has become a pretty switchy defender. If Exum and Rudy Gay are on the floor together, now all of a sudden the Jazz get longer defensively.

Hello everyone.

I am not sure if this is the right place, but I found a very nice article about Joe Ingles, worth reading.

5 of Joe Ingles’ Aussie mates reflect on the Utah Jazz forward’s career, from ‘skinny fat guy’ to bronze-medal legend

Random Jazz stats:

The Jazz are only shooting the three ball at 32% so far this early season. Conley is at 48.7% and Ingles is at 45.7%, while everyone else's percentage sucks. Our third highest percentage three point shooter is Paschall at 33.3%. Last season, seven games in to the season the Jazz were at 37.3%.

The Jazz have the third best team defensive ranking at NBA.com at 99.7. The Warriors and Heat lead at 97.1 and 97.9 respectively.

7-2 Record 9 games in with the strength of schedule, tough road games (Bulls, Bucks, Hawks, Heat, scrappy Kings) Home -vs- away 3H-6A), I think that shows the strength of this team early. They still have some kinks, JC & Ingles need to get back to their productive selves, but after they beat Orlando (7th road game of first 10 - I hope this isn't a Jinx post), they will be 8-2 with 8 of next 10 at home. Wonder how much National attention they will be getting if they are 15-5 or better after 20 games?

The 4th quarter of Heat game (Actually last 4-5 minutes) showed how tough this team can be with a chance to tie at end after being down by 19.

Cole Anthony really looked great last night and is averaging 20 ppg this early season. When I see a young player running all over the court with boundless energy for the entire game like Anthony did last night, it makes me miss seeing Dante Exum do that on D for us for stretches from time to time. Exum showed he could still bring exceptional energy and speed for stretches in the Olympics. I would still be interested in getting him for a minimum to play some wing from time to time.

Rudy Gay --- We need him to get healthy and be available to play, though I am happy that Paschall is getting valuable development minutes.

Because the team shooting hasn't been terrible enough already? :o ... just sayin'

But hey, bringing in Forrest, who is afraid to shoot, instead of Butler (who can shoot, even if he hasn't shown it in the regular season) happened, so maybe we're onto something. lol

Just giving a hard time. I'm in a mood, plus the Orlando game. ugh.

I get it but if Ingles is not athletic, and his shooting playmaking are not there, we gotta do something.

Hard to knock on Ingles when he rarely touches the ball with Donovan creating everything

Ingles still managed to get six assists the last game against Orlando. I think he is a very valuable Jazz piece, but I am just wondering whether it is a great plan to be asking veteran Ingles to play 34 minutes on the back half of a back to back when Conley rests. On another note, look at what Brooklyn is doing with 36 year old Lamarcus Aldridge. They are playing him just 20 mpg and Lamarcus has responded with per minute production and efficiency that is as good as the young All Star Aldridge. Lamarcus may also be benefiting from the extra rest he got during his brief retirement, whereas Ingles is coming off a shortened NBA off-season that also included his medal run in the Olympics.

This article is three days old now, but it says Rudy Gay is medically cleared to play. The Jazz organization is bringing him back slowly and methodically; they aren't rushing anything. It will be interesting to see how everyone's minutes plays out when Gay finally comes back. I hope Paschall keeps getting 15 mpg to grow in his role. Maybe Gay gets some of Ingles and Bogey's minutes?
