I have seasons and use almost half my tickets - which is a lot of games. I understand if you sell too many, they will classify you as a commercial reseller and raise the cost of the seats 30%. When I asked my account manager how many games this amounts to, they wouldn’t disclose.

Anyone know anything about this? I’m sure if I use close to half I’m fine, but I’d love to know the actual criteria.

Few years ago when I became a holder. Asked the initial sales rep the recommended amount to stay under for putting games on the official marketplaces ie: through your Raptors account ie Ticketmaster (as we were expecting, and wasn't sure how many games my Wife would be able to attend in the later half of the season, which got cut short cause of COVID anyway lol.) I stayed under that amount and come renewal my (now) account rep informed me of the 30% commercial hike since it was all tracked. I appealed and also provided some further information on transfer of tickets and all was adjusted back to regular membership cost. I can discuss more in PM if you want. Now I stay off selling through the Raps account/Ticketmaster ie: just friends/fam, few forums like here - especially this year since I can only go to a handful of games due to having a little one now/very few day games.

I always thought they had a problem with people selling on Stub Hub. That they would be cool with using Ticketmaster because they get a cut and advertise it to us as an easy way to sell tickets.

Of course they would prefer an extra 30% plus the percentage on sales. Silly of me to think anything else.

You and me both. I had only sold through the Raptors account manager, which was obviously Ticketmaster. Didn't go as far as Stubhub. I had also just listed at whatever the recommend price was (which I know varies on it's own) but I always kept it at that or lowered it below face to move them. Even more so, we had attended all the tier 1 games before the shutdown (opening night, Rockets with Beard, Kawhi's return/ring ceremony, Demar's return), so it's not like those were posted and profited from. And I mean they take 10% vig on both sides, buyer and seller LOL.

Even once everything was settled and they agreed to remove the 30% commercial hike, the Manager himself suggested to just keep everything off TM/Stub and to transfer peer to peer, to avoid that happening again. I think I was more annoyed that I had specifically asked before that season started, what number of games to stay under, sold well below that and still got the hit :banghead:

Years ago I was in the exact same situation with the birth of my second child and had to sell a lot of my tickets, mostly through friends and some through TM. It was stupid though, the electronic transfer system at that time wasn't as user friendly it is now and many times I would have printed the tickets by PDF for my friends and at that time, they thought I had sold on Stubhub because of that. So they really did not like people who used Stubhub. I didn't know that I was flagged as a commercial reseller until I realized I didn't get a STH gift and stopped getting other benefits like invites to events - but then I realized when they changed Reps on me and saw on Linkedin who the new rep was. I was furious and appealed and they agreed to put me back as normal and change my rep back to a normal one before they put that 30% hike on me for the next season (and they gave me back the gift I was owed previous season too). Now I try to avoid selling on TM at all costs as the fees are more like 10%/24% on both sides which is outrageous.

So lesson here is, for those non-STHs, if you want to buy tickets, go to one of the many trusted members here on RealGM on this thread first before considering going on TM.

Can you PM me? I'm interested in learning more about that. For some reason I can't PM, it says I haven't been a member long enough but I joined in 2018 ... so that's odd.

I can empathize with you on young ones restricting how many games you attend. My kids have now left that stage - at first they loved going to the games with me which was great. Now they are at that age where they can stay home alone and are less interested in the games - so it gives me a chance to go with my friends. Its a long stretch, but the kids are so much fun at all ages!

Anyways - I'd be interested in learning more about what triggers a review, and like you I do limit how many I sell thru the ticketmaster marketplace for that reason. They sure made it hard this year tho - so many games in short periods of times, seems like 4 extended home stands this year. For people like you and I with young kids, its extra hard to attend games that we want to cuz its just too much in a short time frame. Oh well, I think we have covid to thank for that. I guess I'll be posting some games for sale as well.

** edit ** got your PM but I can’t send outgoing for some reason. I’ve asked an admin to fix it so I should be able to get back to you in a day or two.
