A-Rod to the Cubs?

Post#1 » by GYBE » Sun Sep 23, 2007 8:13 pm

"A new report says New York Yankees' Alex Rodriguez's agent has spoken to a potential new owner of the Chicago Cubs about a bank-breaking deal that could give A-Rod a cut of the team.

The powerful Yankee third baseman is eligible to opt for free agency 10 days after the World Series ends this fall. And, New York magazine reports, super-agent Scott Boras is already talking to who he thinks is the favorite group vying to purchase Chicago's first-place team."

An infield with A-Rod, A-Ram and D-Lee is pretty ridiculous. DeRosa's above average at 2nd as well.

As much as I love Theriot I wouldn't mind having A-Rod take his place.
Theriot would split time with DeRosa at 2nd.

I'll be the first one to say this... I might change it up next year but for now I actually like Theriot. What is he a bag of peanuts or something? How soon you guys forget.

Theriot is not that good. He's a borderline everyday player, but would make a really good backup middle infielder that can cover SS and 2nd.

And of course, we're talking about the best player in the game here.

This is all a ploy to get big George to pony up the real cash for A-Rod. I just don't see him going away from the Yanks, especially after we win it this year... we on't need him.

Same here. But I wouldn't just get rid of Theriot. Maybe Theriot could be the everyday second baseman, and Derosa could play right field.

It won't happen. But if it did, I think you'd see Theriot at 2nd and DeRosa in RF. I don't know who said this already but I agree.

Probably, I would put Lee in the 2 hole and Derosa down in the order or something like that.

i'd keep lee 3 because he's a power/average hitter... and based on september i can see him getting that power back up to around 30-35 hrs... ramirez and arod are interchangable i guess... i'd put arod in the 4 hole and aram in the 5...
