2022 draft

Post#1 » by Celtsfan1980 » Thu Nov 4, 2021 8:24 pm

Depending on how Baker plays, I'm looking at Mariota or Trubisky as back up. There should be a competition. If a quarterback falls later I'd contemplate it, but otherwise I'd say no.

As of right now, getting Garrett a partner, wide receiver, or offensive line should be the top priorities. Going BPA is okay too.

I'm perfectly okay with losing the last two games at this point. I'm leaning towards QB Sam Howell(if he goes) or DE George Karlaftis. Trading Baker is okay. Berry deserves another year, and I trust he'll make the right decision.

If Karlaftis somehow falls I'd be happy if they take him. Garrett Wilson at 13 would be okay. If you draft receiver first BPA would be my second choice. I don't want them to reach for a quarterback early. Not drafting a wide receiver in the first two picks, I'd be one who wouldn't complain. I'd prefer to trade down more than up.

I'd have to know more about the discussions about a Baker trade first. If a team is willing to take his full contract with a decent draft pick, you can fill your wr, de, and dt needs in free agency. If teams only want to pay for part of Baker's contract, drafting for need is more likely with the first pick.

If rb Kenneth Walker is available and you trade Chubb some fans would not be happy, but it's one I'd be okay with. I trust the analytics.

At this point I'm hoping for BPA and one not prone to injuries. If I had to guess a tight end will be our pick(McBride or Wydermyer).

I haven't done much research on the later picks this year. I don't have major preferences but I'm hoping for BPA more than once.

I liked our draft because we added depth

Trading down for what could be considered a reach is what I was hoping they'd avoid. Emerson would be considered a reach.

I love a good defensive line. Winfrey is my favorite of the draft picks.

After finding a quarterback and building your defense, helping the offensive line comes next. If we can get lucky and Deaton works out that is a positive.

Ford and Bell are intriguing. I hope one of them works out.

I expect Nakobe Dean would have been my choice in the second round rather than trading down for Emerson. I hope to compare them in the coming years.
