This isn't similar to the Sterling situation at all. Doc Rivers and the players were ready to boycott the team if something wasn't getting done. That really forced the NBA's hand to do something. The entire thing blew up because of it. With Sarver, he has Jones' repeated support and Monty's support. I don't see Booker rattling the cages. Sarver is probably going to be fine.

Should also be noted that the league technically didn't make Sterling sell the team. They suspended him and then Sterlings wife took him to court and had him found incompetent and then sold the team herself.

Amazing you took what JJ said as concrete support for Sarver. I took it as "I'll keep my mouth shut for now, but......"

I look forward to what the league uncovers.

I feel this picture should have been attached to the ESPN article in someway.

As they should.
SHAZAM!

Suns traded Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson, Jae Crowder and 4 1st round picks and a swap so some Vegas Bookies would like us.

He did and I would love if Sarver got the same treatment but all I was saying is even with the ban they technically didn't make him sell. Had his wife not won in court and sold it then the league owners would have had to vote to remove him.

I would say that's absolutely what's happening. Evidence below. He seems to be the only person related to the present day suns that is not defending Sarver

If this is a power play/hostile take over I certainly wouldn't be upset :)

8on wrote:Tempting to compare this to Donald Sterling but let's remember, commissioners always control the sale of teams and other governors have a say. Some may not remember but take a look back at the George Shinn situation. Larry Ellison wanted to buy the Hornets but was rejected so the NBA itself could buy the team. Stern tried to get Shinn to sell the team but was rebuffed, so ultimately Stern waited for Shinn to run out of money and then controlled the sale to the point where the league itself owned the team. All this is to say that if the league needs an owner to sell, like it will have to do here, Adam Silver will force Sarver to sell. Whether it's an indefinite ban, a vote by the other governors to force him out, player protests, other business partners pulling out on Sarver unless he takes responsibility, or actual criminal accusations, Sarver will have to sell. That's the one part I don't doubt, regardless of the actual circumstances of all of this. Even though I believe damn near all of what was written, in this day and age, Sarver will be tried and sentenced in the public square before Silver, Congress, the DOJ, FBI or a federal or state court ever gets a crack at him.

There will be no Congress, DOJ, FBI, etc. There is no assault allegations or that sort of thing. Heck, this is a lesser deal than the Kobe news. By far.

I'm curious, of all the different things in the ESPN report about Sarver, what do people think is the single most egregious item.

Dude, totally.
Jones' comments were 100%, "I don't want to lose my job. Sarver is good. I haven't witnessed any bad characteristics.'
