Lillard is aging

If Blazers could get a nice Simmons package, do it

I agree. I use to think RJ & fillers for Lillard made sense. Now I think keeping RJ is a main priority. But that also goes to show you how quickly narratives change in the NBA. this time last season Dame was tearing through the competition and looked as if he was worth everything a franchise owned.

Lol ok

When Lillard says "he's not sure if he wants to go that route", whose route do you think he's talking about, obviousy its the footsteps of taking the easy path and getting shunned by half the audience like Kev.

LeBron = Palpatine, OG dark sider
Durant = Anakin, was seduced into that path after starting light
Giannis = Luke, light sider that resisted the dark
Dame = Rey, currently light but trying to be seduced into the dark side

No problem trading Lillard for the right package. Neither LA team has the assets.

I was hoping and expecting this to be one of the first replies. You did not disappoint. Jroy have it all.

Trade would have to be centered around AD to get a conversation started.

AD is far more of a valuable player than Lillard.

I've always thought this is dumb by teams and they should just take the best deal. Most teams justify not trading a player in-conference because they "don't want to face the player 4 times a year". The problem with that logic is usually the star they are trading is in their 30's and probably at their peak and about the decline in a couple years. And then they're trading their superstar, usually the team trading him is about to start a full teardown rebuild wanting a high lottery pick.... sooooo... who cares if you face the player you're trading 4 times a year?

I still think Lillard can play high level basketball until at least 34-35. CP3 is still productive as are many other players. Lillard type players don't grow on trees and they are smart enough to adapt and change their game to stay competitive.

I wasn't referencing Lillard specifically, just the NBA in general for how teams usually operate in that situation.

Agreed, I suspect Lillard to be productive well into his mid-30's as well.
