I'm just glad our front office didn't plan for him as a 3. He's simply not athletic enough for that full-time. But he's a pretty solid defender as a 4/5. And with Lee, JTA, and even Moody (not to mention Klay eventually), he actually slots in perfectly as a backup 4/5.

For reference, last year he split time 50/50 between SF/PF. Prior to that it always leaned about 75/25 toward SF. This year? He's been about 50/50 PF/C and almost zero lineups with him as a 3.

His legs may get better before getting worn out by year end, it it looks like OPJ is positionally a big forward, but not a “big.” He can’t move well enough to guard a wing at this point but he can’t be a small ball 5 because he doesn’t really have banging ability either. That’s a limited window for who we can play him against but his stretch game will help us in the right situation. We just can’t leave him on the floor against unfavorable matchups.

Two words: "minimum contract." He's exceeded expectations so far and the W's seem to be faring pretty well on defense even with a couple rotation guys who don't move as well as we'd like.

Yup. Dubbs will get whatever positive from him. If he doesn't improve or last for the whole season, he can be replaced with ring chasers at buyout time.

Definitely agree on that, I like how they've been using him this year.

My only thought is, come playoff time, are him and Bjelly gonna be able to stay on the floor? Because teams are going to do everything to force a swtich

Renee Montgomery. She was great all through the summer league. I would definitely tune in to listen to her.

She's great.. I love when announcers lose it like fans do. They're fans just like us, and when an announcer can get us even more hyped, more power to them. Its the pandering and spineless bootlicking that I cant stand.

Personally think Buke is doing pretty well, and while he's no Barnett, I would absolutely love to see Buke be paired with someone whos not an afformentioned bootlicker

I dont get the hate for Fitz being a homer. Warriors fans hate when we dont get enough credit on ESPN or talk shows, but we hate when Fitz is a homer lol. Get out of here

We're human beings, we're never satisfied.

Also wish there was a way to clone Barnett and make him younger.

Doug Christie I noticed is a huge homer on the kings broadcast I’ve watched a handful of their games this year.

Tbf it’s the nba announcing equivalent of putting lipstick on a pig but that’s besides the point

There's a reason why porter is strictly a 4/5 for the dubbs.

Dray wiggs, and iggy are probably the only guys that can provide that defensive switchability without being a liability. And iggy, can do it about 10~15 minutes a game. Ive noticed that wiggs and dray are getting staggered a little more and I'm guessing it's for that reason.

If Wiseman can play adequate basic defense when he gets back, I’d expect OP to pair with him a good deal. That would give some offensive smarts, and they could play a less switching defense for stretches.
This movie is like the Rocky Horror Picture Show where everyone knows all the lines.

Are you crazy? We can't compete with that. We can't have a young Jim Barnett coming for our girlfriends and wives!

Can we do some petition stuff to replace Fitz with Renee?
Reasoning: How come Bay Area be so progressive but have 2 males commentating the game :D
